BK. Hogs aren't useful until 3 at minimum.
Just do max hogs! I'm Th8 too and bk still 5 and hogs level 2 soon lv3

I would say hogs. Upgrading BK to lvl 6 won't give a siginficant change in his stats. While the hogs will get better with that upgrade and will stand against giant bombs better (<lvl3).

Minions hands down.
Hogs have their uses but minions are cheap, quick to train, fly and can target resources before the entire base is wiped out. Use them to pick off some structures near canons/mortars or after you barch your way in use minions to take out storages.
