I love my Teslas, but X bows are the better defensive structure.

After finished lvl1 XBow, prepared 2 lvl 10 Archer Tower as alternatives before you start upgrading lvl2/3 Xbow

Xbow all the way. Then do wiz towers, AD and tesla. Once those are completely maxed, you can usually safely drop your xbows to ground. Then, you can start working on the rest, mortars, AT cannons. I put mortars so far down on the list because I think that they start to lose their purpose at TH9. When was the last time you saw your AQ killed by only mortars?

Agree. At TH9 there is some psychological benefit to having strong Xbows. Many players likely to skip you d/t fear of attacking xbows with weaker troops.. So would do xbows after mortars and wizard towers.

    Cannon
    AT

Unless you war in a good clan then maybe AD before tesla
I think this post pretty much covers it. Except I would do my AT before cannons at the end because cannons are the most useless.

    Upgrade priority

I liked to upgrade buildings that hit both air and ground first, then the splash damage for the specific targets (mortars). So for me defense priority was as follows:

    1) Clan Castle (Best overall building, can be used for both offense and defense)
    2) Inferno Towers
    3) Wizard tower (splash damage that attacks both air and ground)
    4) Xbows
    5) Archer Towers
    6) Hidden Teslas
    7) Mortars
    8) Cannons
    9) Air Defense
    10) Traps

I never have an order where I need to do this first and this second, so on. I feel like it messes with how I farm. If I farm over 5 mil one day then do a WT if I farm 3 mil do a cannon. The reason is that i feel every base relies on a particular defensive building more then others.

Just don't do all of the same type of defense at once. EX. Don't do all 4 WT's at the same time etc, same goes for any defensive structure. Don't make it a to do list, for me it becomes boring that way. Hope it helps.

Definitely agree with not upgrading the same structure all at once. Weakens base too much. When using loonian, occasionally I'll see a camp with good loot and 2-3 AD's being upgraded. That's basically a recipe for 100% destruction and no spells needed. So I try to mix it up. No more than one of a specific defense at a time.
