It works, you're just not using it correctly. The thing you have to remember it's not a magnet so it doesn't pull all troops in and prevent troops from wandering off towards other buildings etc. The troops see the jump spell as a way of going over walls to other buildings so you still need to path the troops somewhat. Post a vid or screenshot of what went wrong if you like...

May be I'm just complaining for no reason and it could be a user error.. Whats strange is that my qween was right next to it and on its path but it ran away from the jump spell.. I saw few weird situation today

Why do you think that the jump spell will draw your troops there?

Jump spell does not change troop AI. The troops will still go to the closest structure accessible.

A way to visualize the jump spell effect is - when you drop the jump spell - imagine that all the walls in that area have disappeared. Now position your troops accordingly.

We thought the exact same thing, then realized the skelly traps were causing all sorts of altered paths from where we thought things would go. Had an entire gaggle of pekkas and a BK walk right out of a jump spell and down many tiles after them, even though a tesla was right next to them across the wall. I almost had to buy a new iPad after that raid.
