TH9 vs 10, a question of heroes and dark elixir...

So, I'm about halfway to getting legos done (nevermind the out-of-date sig), and am not relishing the prospect of grinding out lavas. In fact, I almost certainly won't just farm walls at 3M a pop.

One school of thought is to farm heroes, and just do walls as a side project (currently BK10 / AQ13). But curious about that 3rd drill at TH10. Maxed up, it's another 2,400 DE a day for doing nothing. Given that you need to build a decent army for getting to centralized DE storage, you can't really raid 20 times a day unless boosting EVERYTHING.

So might just collecting 7,200 DE per day and defending it with those infernos be a faster way to get the heroes up? Assuming that's the main goal, as opposed to lavas?

Curious to hear the thoughts of those that have farmed heroes at TH9 and 10.

Get your legos done, BK15, AQ15, and a lava core, then I'd say you can move up.

I would get heroes to lv20 and at a considerable amount of lavas before th10.

Defending loot as a th10 is infinitely easier, not to mention that you become a lot more effective raiding higher up and in wars. I wouldnt stress about lava and maxing heros, put those inferno up and enjoy your defence.

Id never dream of hitting th10s, but I can and have penetrated th9s far enough to hit de storages. Inferno towers make that near impossible without a beast army and freeze.

It's not just the extra drill that makes DE farming more efficient at TH10, it's the infernos plus offense and defense extras that make it easier to stay in higher leagues where you can farm a lot more DE.

Farming your heroes at th10 is easier than th9 in my opinion.

I didn't finish my Legos, about 60 left. And my heros were level 15 each.

Now I am well into th10. I farm in masters 3 since the league bonus changed and I used to farm in Crystal 3 and 2.

what I find is the VAST MAJORITY have level 7 or 8 walls. Yes, some have level 9 or 10 and every so often I see a few level 11 walls. But in my experience 50% have level 7 40% have level 8 and the remainder have level 9+. Now this is just my gut feel for everything Crystal 3 to masters 3.

i personally wish I had finished my level 9's at th9 but it was a boring grind and I have full elixir storages and it seemed like a waste to stay. I also wish I would have got my heros to level 20 or so.

that all said, I got raided by th10's and lost a few thousand de every few days. If i came down, it got zapped.

Now, I'm high enough i never get zapped and not many storm into my base and take de. If they do, they deserve it because they used spells and all kinds of nasty expensive troops.

i easily make 15-20k a day de without ever thinking of farming it. The stuff just seems to jump into my storage. I make enough to keep a hero upgrading steady at all times, with no wait.

So, if I were you, finish your Legos, uograde your heros while you are doing it, then upgrade to th10 (whether or not your heros are 20 or not)

Thanks for the input, everyone. Given the choice between maxed heroes and maxed walls, I think I'd go for maxed heroes... So looks like it'll be Legos then TH10 for me! Hopefully the new toys will make the game fun again... For a while at least.

Focus on hero farming and the walls will come by themselves.

I farmed both heros to lvl25 (managed 95 lavas without trying during this time) and have just gone up to TH10.

I'd certainly get your heros up above lvl20 before upgrading your TH, they are a real asset, I am farming in C1 with BAM at the moment and if I need to get to central storages then my heros make that possible.

Been grinding lavas for a while now and AQ is going to 20, BK is 18.
I've never really raided for DE, it comes as a side product tbh.

Mainly in Gold II where I get zapped occasionally. But those are noobs you can easily revenge for the same amount
