    SUPERCELL Interview

At 5:58 in Daddy's interview with Jonas, Daddy asked "How do you see the future of clash?"

Jonas response was, "The most critical thing for the clash development team is to keep the game interesting and to keep the game competitive. I think once the game starts to feel like everybody has figured it out and its just a matter of applying the same strategy, the same techniques, the same thought process over and over. Then, the interest in the game is really going to start to wane…So, when we are coming out with new features in the game we're always trying to bring something new to people ... a new challenge, something new to figure out, and its much more important for us then just giving people things to upgrade. We're always thinking about, how can we add to the experience?"

I think Jonas did a very good job explaining exactly how I have felt about the game for the past few months. I have been craving something new for quite some time. I have been playing a lot less due to the repetitive feel of the game recently.

I don't feel like there has been enough new things added to the game since clan wars. Almost everything since clan wars has been tweaks, more upgrades, small changes.

The most recent update was very small. Could something big be coming soon? Any hints been dropped recently? Supercell used to drop hints for us in forum posts. Also, youtubers would sometimes drop small hints. I haven't seen anything like that recently. In fact, I haven't seen a supercell employee post on a forum thread in a long time.

Express your thoughts, concerns, experience below. I'm interested to see if I'm alone or many on the same page. This thread is not meant to bash supercell. They have made an epic game that has kept me interest for over 2 years. I'm just expressing my thoughts.

Not sure if I would take much from what this Jonas guy says...he isn't really a developer, he is a server guy. Don't think he has anything to do with actual game content or design.

throwing a few new troops in at once without any very thorough testing would be a nice way to start off. Examine usage of these troops, tweak strategies that are extreme. A new building or something that would actually add something "big" to the game; new things to do, like mastermind's quests and such. Not just tweaks to things we are already very used to that would just add more monotone to the game: lix to walls, 4th mortar, clan location, new troop/defense levels, etc. The last "big" thing added to the game was Clan wars and too much time has passed since then. I feel like the lava hound was sort of a disappointment with all the sneak peaks and the suspense for it. I know that most players feel this way too.

It's over, just all of my cents for the game right now.

All irellavant if they don't fix the loot. Game will be over a lot sooner than they think.

But just to play along, this is just another example of people trying to over think things. The equation that made this game this popular is still here. It could use some tweaks but if they do too much they will ruin it. They already have started....

My 2c - there has to be specific in-house reasons as to why they don't introduce new facets like quests, campaigns, better tournaments etc.

One competitor's game is buggy as hell (ever seen troops shoot backwards?) but their developers have been able to introduce unique campaigns (with specific troop rewards) and PvP tournaments (again with specific rewards) with seemingly minimal effort and I'd hazard a fraction of the SC dev budget.

For advanced TH10s your options are: keep grinding walls/heroes, CW nonstop, or stay online as much as possible with a shiny red badge (and/or CW nonstop).

I don't have the patience nor inclination to push past 4k trophies..so nonstop CW and the farming grind is it for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm ok still doing this for foreseeable future..but I have no doubt at some point in the next 12 months I'm going to be over it unless we get other facets added to the game to keep us interested.

The most recent update fundamentally changed clan wars. The skeleton traps were the definitive end of all-hog raids and were a huge setback to ground-only attacks, such as gowipe. Air attacks are all the rage now for 3 stars in wars between top war clans.

Small changes can have huge effects on the game; it does not take a "big" change to throw everything up in the air.

The current state of the game is perfect for anyone that is not a TH10. When I was TH9 and lower, the excitement and motivation to max my base was strong. I enjoyed farming and grinding everyday to get all the new toys TH10 has to offer. Since I've been playing for so long I am now at a point where my base is fully maxed TH10 with about 30 zaps to go.

So, for me, I'm looking for some new content that will keep this game interesting for years to come. Not everyone has hit the same point in the game as I have, and I realize that. But, it would be better to fix it now so you guys dont have to experience it.

Clan wars is awesome. It definitely keeps me logging back in to use my attacks. But, the repetitive nature can get boring. I use almost the same army on every clan war attack. My last 95/100 attacks were all GOWIWIPE for 2-3 stars with a few fails mixed in between. That's very repetitive. I bring up clan wars because if it wasn't for clan wars I'm not sure I would still be playing honestly.

When this change came out I didn't change anything and my results have been the same except for one raid. One raid those skellies messed up everything on me. My troops were dancing like it was 1999.

Side note...I had a clan mate three star a maxed th10 yesterday in clan wars with hogs, so, hogs are not dead by any means...it just takes more planning than it used to. Our clan three stars with ground troops regularly. We aren't on the air attack hype, im interested to know if we're talking about maxed th10's or th9's though? Our clan currently battles mostly th10's so air cant usually get three stars.

It's a shame about the staff not coming onto the forums anymore but I think there is two main reasons.

    1. The staff quotes (with good intentions) get dragged up and distorted sometimes.

    2. Hostility towards them has ramped up quite a lot over the last few months on the forums.

with that said I think I'm right in saying they have a community manager and part of their job I would assume is to communicate with the gamers through as many avenues as possible in a positive way, that has been lacking on this forum, atleast the general sub where most clash forumers go.
Its lacking everywhere, not just General.

I wouldnt necessarily agree with this... i mean the reasons u mentioned could be right but they shouldnt be if they are... There will be people who complain, hate, whine and there will also be people who love, follow etc... Look at the life of celebrities.. this doesnt mean they shud go into a shelf... One of the things Steve said multiple times is communication and they should keep in touch with the community in someway or the other..if you ask me this is the only complaint I have about SC

Regarding the OP, i do believe that they will add new features in the game...One thing i really like about them is they dont make any changes hastily.. there is a lot of analysis that goes on before they make a change... whether it is right or wrong is a different story...but they are careful not to ruin the game... Who knows they are working hard on the christmas update already and thats why the silence
