In he last clan war attack I did, the skeleton traps cost me a star. My king was hitting the townhall and stopped to hit the skeletons once they came out, this allowed the few remaining defenses to take him out.

the problem I have with the skeleton traps, is that they further show the weakness of the troops AI.

Not at all the most OP but pretty strong indeed. Try GoWiWi or GoWiWiPe as they clear them a lot better and pekkas have been getting increasingly weaker. Lavaloonion is somewhat viable but can be base specific.

I will agree with the OP to a certain extent. The Skelly traps have been a massive game changer against GoWiPe and GoWiWiPe. What was once a 3 star versus a TH 10 for me is now barely a 2 star, and what was once a 2 star is a 1. Maybe this is the intent.

I have a had to restructure my Attacks completely in clan wars and have actually given up GoWiWiPe completely as it is no longer reliable if going against a clan that knows what they are doing. Load a witch, a couple of wiz, a cràp load of archers in the CC along with The skelly traps in the core and it will cold stop your PEKKA Rush.

I doubt they will remove them though. It is what it is. And you can't really nerf them. It's because the PEKKA take so long to hit. It's the additional distraction that's the killer while in the core when those PEKKA should be raging thru defenses.

Personally, I have just accepted it. At the TH 10 level, my PEKKAs are for donating now unless I go at a premmie. There are other strats that are better for a 2/3 star possible.

I do agree they are a terrible trap and just destroy ai more than it already is. They need to be removed or turned into one stronger skeleton. Troops dive bombing out of their path just to kill a troop doing 25dps is just taking away any execution of the attack and further randomizes attacks which is counter productive to the games intent I think.

I don't think they need to go as far as changing the skeleton [but it could work, higher lv creates stronger skeleton]. AI just needs to be tweaked so only troops within a very small radius near it [say 3 tiles] would chase it. The rest ignore it and raid as per usual.

Troop AI is the issue, not the trap itself.

I too have been greatly affected by the skeleton traps. I consider myself a decent ground attacker and have been trying to stay in champs competing against the big boys despite having very low level heroes.. I have lost so many times because of the new skeleton trap..

For me the problem is not whether they are overpowered but rather every time the trap pops out, there is a potentially chance which they can totally mess up your raid as they act as a magnet and pulls your army to them. But unlike other forms of defenses like cc and heroes, you do not know their locations nor can you guess their location like giant bombs and telsa. It is practically impossible to prepare or react to them during raid.

The trap is good which ever location they are placed.
Inside the core: acts as shield and buy precious time for infernos and other defenses to take down your troops.
Just outside the core: Lure troops away from TH.
Outside the walls: Can be surprisingly good and annoying against luring cc troops to corner or against lone wizards trying to clear the buildings outside.

SC gives us a game changer...

... so change the way you play! People are used to attacking a certain way and when that stops being as effective as it used to, why would you continue to attack the same way? This is just like when they changed heroes...learn to adapt and adjust your play style and you will be 2/3 starring bases again in no time.

This is just a hunch, but I'm going to venture a guess and say that most people that have issues with the skeleton traps are people that normally do not lure cc in their attacks. CC + skeleton troops running around freely in the middle of your raid is going be a giant s**t show, that much should be obvious. Learn to lure/kill the cc troops first and the skeletons wont be as likely to ruin the raid.

For those that are luring and still have issues, then there is something fundamentally wrong with the way you are attacking, and I suggest watching the numerous youtube channels that are out there on how to do a proper gowiwi/gowipe raid. (mine included )

Everyone complains how boring the game has gotten and how they want changes, but when the changes happen people moan and wail that they want things to stay the same... its a vicious cycle I know

This is a fair point. I for one have never needed to lure the CC in GoWiWIPe. Not until now anyway. I will have to adjust my play accordingly, dig back into my old hoggin days of luring the CC out and Git r dun.

Most OP defence in the game is inferno tower, NOT skeleton trap! Cant believe someone has even made this statement yet alone started a thread on it.

I've hardly even noticed skeleton traps when attacking, but then I use balloons to farm and Gowiwi to war as TH10. They make no difference at all.
