Town Hall 10 opinions only - Skeleton traps, most OP thing defense in the game?

I am completely shocked that SC left these in the game permanently. I was absolutely sure these were going leave with the Halloween update.

With the atrocious AI already causing losses left and right, the skeleton trap is SC's worst idea yet. My troops have no idea where to go at this point. They are acting as a second CC at this point. The distraction factors is really the most important.

Between chasing the enemy's King and Queen around the base and trying to lure CC troops I thought this might be enough for SC to sit back and laugh. I was wrong.

In order to even begin to attack a base, I have to clear out about 50 troops, one by one, + the King and Queen? This is absurd. Im not even attacking someones base at this point.

And don't even start with "Wizards do splash damage." Please, my Wizards double clutch their fireball more than Derrick Rose.

Any thoughts on this? I don't see how these Skeleton traps improve the game at all.

If defenses need to be stronger, make new defenses. My troops standing around killing enemy troops one by one is boring, takes less tactic, and is infuriating.

    I want these gone.

Any thoughts or suggestions on this mess?

Well im a th9 that regularly attacks th10 so maybe youll value my opinion. These traps are fine as is, sounds to me like theyre doing exactly what they were designed to do. You do have to set them for ground or air, so its not like they ruin both kinds of attacks at the same time. Theyre here, theyre gonna stay, get used to it.

Given we could upgrade them they were never going to be temporary.

I believe they are a great way to improve defense; however troop AI needs to be tweaked. At times you have troops chasing them when they are quite a distance away.

Troops really should only attack them once a skeleton attacks them first, and only those within a radius of 3 should assist. The rest should completely ignore them and continue attacking as per usual.

In a round-a-about way it is another way to make Valks valuable; Valks clear them out pretty damn quick.

I do agree to some point. I think they are a pain in the (_._) sometimes and not really needed, as like you said...your troops in attack are already chasing enough cráp around bases.
My opinion is complicated lol now if wiz actually fired everytime instead of pausing cos the troop they're aiming for just died (even though there is still 30 troops in that splash area). I think the skeletons are great. BUT since wizards and others dont always fire, i think the skeletons are a silly addition. Make things work properly before making more i say.

The whole wiz not firing was apperently fixed a yr ago, same as wiz towers hahaha

on the other hand, its not technically hard to 1 star "any" base in the game if your at that lvl...so i think sc are always trying to add things to help out in def to get a def win.
Like heroes stopped being lured, cc went to 35. Hogs and heroes nerfed (to name a few, everything been nerfed really lol). I think they are always trying to help out in def for that reason....the only time i get a def win as im in champ is when a hard core gemmer has the tools but has no clue how to use them

so what im saying is lol i dont think they are too bad, as they have grabbed attention for me plenty of times and got me def wins (all my skeletons are in the middle, my defence smash them in the middle while their troops chance them lol)
in attack they get annoying popping up. But i just attack like they arent there and most times dont even notice them.

just because they are doing what they are designed to do, it doesn't make them good.

also, just because they are "here," i still disagree with the addition and i'm still going to try to make enough noise to get a fix.

AI and Wiz not attacking is the main issue.

I mostly agree, and I would love to use Valks but their time, cost, and troop space just aren't better than Wizards.

i agree, but SC has made it extremely one dimensional, GOWIPE or go home.

I guess you could balloonian, but lets be real here, you need level 40 Heroes.

Inb4, "but i got to champs without 40 heroes."

Great, i don't care. You spent obsessive amounts of time on COC or got very lucky.

im not a th10 but skeleton traps were added to make attacking more balanced. They were at a point were high level players in champs didn't even have to try to win an attack. this was added for balancing purposes.

If your gonna hit em, hit em hard.

If this is going to be everyone's reason, it's a poor one.

Catering to the 1% doesn't really make much sense, wouldn't you agree?

I'm a th10, max trophies around 3000+ without GOWIPE, playing for 2 years or so, and I'm complaining.

First off - TH10 player. Ok?

I think they're fine. The problem isn't the skeleton trap. It's the AI of some of the troops attacking that is the issue. I've seen dragons fly across camps to chase down little skeletons, and I've seen ground troops diverted way off intended attack plan to go after them as well. What I'd rather see is that my attacking troops should generally ignore them and continue attacking the camp until the skeleton actually engage them. So I don't want to see my king running around after skeletons who just took off to chase down my wizards that just went the other direction. Stick to the attack plan unless you are attacked by them - then defend yourself, wipe them out and continue the camp assault.

I think that's the answer overall.

This is however, a further nerfing of hogs, and nerfs giants as well since both will ignore the skellies.
