What's the deal with the timing for when a collector's icon appears?

I'm kind of a nerd (OK, a major nerd), so as I was leveling my collectors, I wrote down how much elixir/gold a collector needs to be filled with for the collection icon to appear above it's head. Here's my data:

    Level 1: 1.2% (6 out of 500) 108 seconds
    Level 2: 1.5% (15 out of 1000) 135 seconds
    Level 3: 1.666~% (25 out of 1500) 150 seconds
    Level 4: 1.6% (40 out of 2500) 180 seconds
    Level 5: 0.6% (60 out of 10000) 216 seconds
    Level 6: 0.5% (100 out of 20000) 277 seconds
    Level 7: 0.5333~% (160 out of 30000) 360 seconds
    Level 8: 0.44% (220 out of 50000) 417 seconds
    Level 9: 0.4% (300 out of 75000) 491 seconds
    Level 10: 0.4% (400 out of 100000) 576 seconds
    Level 11: 0.333~% (500 out of 150000) 600 seconds

Unfortunately, I've never been good at the part of math where you take raw data and come up with a formula to explain it, so I'm totally stumped as to why these numbers are the way they are.

Does anyone have a clue what the formula for "when the icon appears" could be? Or any other insight into why these particular amounts end up triggering the icon's appearance?

From a quick glance, looking at your percentages, there is no consistency. I do not believe there is a formula. It seems as if SuperCell arbitrarily chose different numbers for every level.

Yeah, I think you may be right. The only thing that looks relatively meaningful is that levels 4, 7, and 10 are even numbers of minutes. It's like they chose to make 3mins, 6mins, and 10mins the "milestone" levels, and then filled in the rest with "even" numbers of resources.
