Hey fellow clashers, I'd like to share my first-time experience in boosting barracks with you.
Being mainly a balloon user, having my balloons maxxed out yesterday was BIG. So big that it's definitely one of the most amazing personal accomplishment that I earned in CoC. I thought I'd like to throw myself a little celebration. And what better way to celebrate than to tryout something new? I thought for once, I'd try to boost all barracks and spell factory. I'm from Taiwan. I've noticed my Sunday nights are usually filled with bases with great loots. So I decided to boost 2 hours during this time.
Playing CoC for nearly a year now, ever since TH7, I have farmed using surgical balloons-dragon + small BAM. The time it takes to cook my army has always been fairly long (about an hour), so I've never raided as consecutively as most farmers would (I know I'll get called out nub for using pre-maxxed balloons or being inefficient and all. It's alright hah, I don't mind.) For me, raids have always been like this: Raid, Train up, Chat a bit, Do my thing and come back an hour later, Seeing "Your troops are ready for battle!", Slide that notice, Check for revenge; If not, search for a base I can 3star; Raid, Repeat. As you can see, it's not that action-packed.
Going into this, I already knew boosting is training four times faster. It doesn't sound very impressive for its cost in gem (I'm not big in gemming, so..) But the actual boosting, was just WOW! I certainly did not expect it to be so much fun. It was like <snap, snap, snap> so fast. Balloons are trained up like giants, heal spells are trained up like balloons. I felt like I was travelling in light speed on my sofa; absolutely thrilling!! (magic schoolbus?)
I went back to check out my attack log to see for myself. Here's some numbers, for those of you who are curious:
-----2 hours: 8 attacks; total 1625334 gold; total 1678875 elixir; total 6224 dark elixir
-----avg attack: 203166 gold; 209859 elixir; 798 dark elixir
It's not the best compared to some of you, but for me, it's pretty amazing considering that I've never accumulated loot this quickly before.

I want to urge those of you who have never boosted before to try it out some time. Because it's just so much fun. Don't miss out on it like I have for the last whole year (yes, even 1-gem events). Now for me, I won't say that I'll be boosting frequently from now on, but I will definitely pick my time and do this again. ciao~
