What to do about a premature Town Hall ?

I would not use gems to buy shield. Not worth it. Why do it anyway. You can get a free shield by putting TH outside. and even if they attack you for real, how much can they loot? and they wont be able to attack you anymore for 12-16 hours. You can esily replace the amount they loot from you with 1 max 2 good raids anyway.

If you want/have gems to use, you can finish upgrade jobs. this way you can expedite your upgrading progress plus spend your resources faster so there is nothing to loot from you anyway.

Honestly though, it's for the best that it gets more visibility. And in fairness, it's not like I was the first person who realized prematurity was a bad thing or posted about it here on the forums. Copying it word for word and then adding a different name as author is kind of funny though.

Great advice, I'm nowhere near th9 but this sets me in a good direction! I hope others have learned a lot from this too!

Being a non purchaser of gems, and seeing that I'm only th4, it's not possible for me epically fail like that right?

Hah, I upgraded to TH9 excruciatingly prematurely. It was quite literally a race. I got to TH9 as fast as I could because I thought that was the best way to grow and ascend through the game (and because the thoroughly underwhelming xbows made me salivate). It takes 31 days from TH1 to TH9 and I don't imagine it took me much longer than that from the time I started playing. As a result, my base was tragically bad.

I originally signed up to complain about making this mistake. I wanted to start over so badly. I have OCD and kept fixating on every detail I messed up, which was... everything. Not ideal. Caused my care level to sharply decline.

edit: I've managed to build a respectable base over time. Still TH9 for a while yet.

after reading all this as a TH7 thinking about upgrading my townhall to get more walls and a DE collector, I have now decided to hang around TH7 for a while. Maybe become a farmer maybe building to get to th8, but for now, I am fine at 7

Just put your nose to the grindstone and farm.

Step one is to upgrade your offense. Level four archers and giants, level three wbs, and level one healers will be hard to farm with. Your army camps also need to be upgraded. I don't encourage gemming, but if you were going to gem I'd get archers, barbs, and minions to level five ASAP and start running BAM. Alex the Great has posted extensively about it on these forums.

Not sure if I'm counting correctly but I think I'm also seeing only four workers as well as some of your workers sleeping. I would encourage you to buy the fifth worker and get them all working ASAP. Wizard towers are extremely underleveled. Make those your priority.
