Hard Time as TH8

I am in pretty much the same situation as you; however I have 5 builders and plan my upgrades in advance so every evening I have at least 1 builder finish an upgrade. I go online, boost 1 barracks and raid with Barch/gobs to get the loot I need to do my upgrade(s) for the evening. I stay on constantly for the 2-hour boost and can almost always grab the 1-2 million of whatever resource I was looking for. Then, before I start my upgrade I dump the extra into walls (though that will be harder soon as I only have a few lv 6 walls to upgrade), then start my upgrade(s) and log off with less than 1 million in my storages.

I rarely get hit with a large raid, mostly TH snipes, and the ones that do are usually revenges from people who I robbed earlier. But even a full-on 100% only gets them less than 150k of each. The only thing I hate is to see that they got any of my DE...

2. are u attacking these this because they might be revenging u
3. do u have a farming base and if not than make one

The real question is why do you have so much loot as a new TH8??? You shouldn't be losing 400k+ as a new TH8 because there is so much stuff to upgrade right away with relatively short build times that there is no need to stockpile loot. If you do have a crazy surplus from raiding that you don't have a problem maintaining why not start dumping extra into walls. That way you don't need to worry about grinding them out later. Remember, the best way to avoid big raids is to not have a ton of loot on hand.

I have about 2mil elixir for troop upgrades, and about 1.5mil for defense upgrades. That isn't stockpiling when troop upgrades need 2.25 million elixir and building need about 1.6 million gold. And when I get wiped about they walk away with 200-300k. I have my townhall in corner, and I was in Gold II, but now dropping to Silver I. See if that helps.

Get a farming base, that is really the only thing you can do.

TH9s always bully TH8 storages.

this is one of the main reasons i quit the game unfortunately...i didnt buy gems, and it was extremely hard for me to sustain loot without being online 24/7 .

Silver 1 is a great place for a th8

Snipe to masters and you won't get attacked. Mostly th10 there who if attack you will have a 50% loot penalty. The th9 there are worried you will revenge lightning their de. Safe haven!

It's a process, upgrading a TH is always tough in the beginning, just no way around it. I got to TH8 with level 3/4 walls, level 5/6 cannons/ATs, level 2/3 of all other defenses, and no Teslas or BK and ended up upgrading to TH9 eventually with maxed defenses. to say you will have a much easier time then me would be an understatement lol.

Just put the TH outside and stay active and you should be just fine.
