Yes, they are available for defense so why not offense too?

I found the recent PlayClashOfClans video by Chief Pat about his request for future updates. He addresses the request for using upgrading hero troops in war at the 2:45 mark of the video. Thank you for letting me know that one of the most if not the most popular video blogger of the game put this request forward as well.

So far the vote is 6:1 yes to no... I think it is becoming clear that users want this function. I hope Supercell listens and implements this in the next major update.
