And Halloween is mostly a western celebrated custom though there are some European nations that celebrate a form.
You should keep in mind Finland celebrate it, therefore the developers do. Also these things take time, and we get a fair few already.

I would rather have them work on new game mechanics then a theme for every public holiday. The ones we get are good because of the time put into them. I don't want them to overdo it.

There are Christians in every country. We do celebrate Christmas. In India, we don't know what Halloween is, but since most MMO's get updates, new cool stuff - we don't mind .

Why would you want an Autumn theme if we are in Spring?

While we're at it, I propose a 4th of July theme too... with fireworks
And a Memorial Day with the maidens cooking on the grill

It'd be cool to get trees with red, orange, and brown leaves with them eventually ending up naked. Of course, the evergreens would be unchanged.

Going back to Thanksgiving, they could dress the villagers like Pilgrims
It's not Autumn for everyone, many players on the southern hemisphere play this game as well

Why a 4th of July theme. What's special about that particular day?

Halloween is a relatively international holiday celebrated in many areas if the world. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geography_of_Halloween

probably due to the commercializations of it. Similar to Christmas which is celebrated around the world by Catholics and Christians in every time zone on earth that believes in Jesus Christ as their savior born on December 25th.

Thanksgiving is strictly an American holiday. Maybe Canadians do too, because if pilgrims colonizing north America benefited them as well but no other country, as a nation, cares about American thanksgiving.
