how to better my defense and get more gold to make a stronger wall.

I have a TH level of 4 and I see others with the same level of TH having a upgraded wall which helps them in defense. But I can't get much gold to build an upgraded wall. I am relatively new to the game so please help me better my defense and also tell me how to get hold of more gold for a better army and defense mechanics. Suggestions on building a better layout will also be appreciated.

i recomend you to use barch attacks ( barbarian + archer) to raid and upgrade your defences. I think layout don't make a big change before town house 7, but your look good for town house 4. there are many combos defenceless and mortar is an important building agains archers, so i'd put it inside.
also don't need to make identical threads.

Move your townhall far away and hope it gets sniped at this level.

For realsies though, I would recommend browsing the guides on the forums for base design 101. Nathan (sp) has a great one. Your base even though low town hall is poorly designed. Compartmentalize more with your walls, centralized your mortar and protect it. That's an easy 3 star base you have that I would attack.

For attacking just barch with like 2 wall breakers and only use them if needed.

Pros:
-Centralized splash damage
-Well segmented storages
-Storages cannot be barched because of symmetrical defensive buildings

Cons:
-Missing one wall for perfect symmetry (that's why trap placement is there)
-Non-centralized cc, but it should still work fine

At your stage, defenses. Max defenses and troops, then walls.

So for that I need more troops for which I need to upgrade army camps. But I dont have much exelsior. To attack do you suggest barch along with wall breakers or something else ?
