We want to increase the importance of trophies. League badge will continue to be the new norm instead of XP level as the default symbol in most places. We’ll continue showing both in clan info, top list and when visiting villages.

so steve why were levels removed from players names on revenge lists? it seems like you are trying to remove levels completely! how long till its removed from clan info?

I like the leagues because it gives me a better idea on how I'm doing in the game. It is much easier to grasp than #85,542 squished between two random gamers who could be farming, spam donating, or trophy hunting.
