    I disagree.

    Right now, the league bonus are not attractive.

    A player needs to recoup the cost of his troops for each battle (even if we assume he only uses tier 1 troops). At the highest possible level of the league, the league bonus is 100k gold + 100k elix. In terms of the cost of the troops spent to win a battle at this level, this is a joke! (not to mention said player most likely has also gem'ed his troops).

    SC wants players to do both, gem troops and gem loot. (greedy!)

    Now, consider this, what is the point of gem'ming resources/loot? It's a hollow victory to say "I won 500k gold/500k elix" when to get that the player had to gem the resources in the first instance to get said victory. After a certain point, players realise this. Then they farm.

    Its not coincidental at all that the practice of farming escalated around the time that SC installed the loot caps/loot penalities. Its no coincidence at all!

    Let's look at human nature for a moment, its the human condition to boast. SC have limited this to what? base design, and the occassional huge loot (the sum total of combined loot which has not exceeded 1.2 million since they imposed loot caps and loot penalties).

    Seriously, this game can become EPIC when much larger victories are involved!

    @Tiny: That is why he said they need to raise loot bonuses.

    I think that Supercell can make do with just having League Badges. But, they did it an update too early, since they still haven't found a way to properly adjust the league system to make trophy hunting the most efficient way to advance your base.

    Wow! Somebody else gets it!

    At TH9(the TOP level in the game) there SHOULD be much more loot available to raid. There are NO new players to protect here! The more risk/reward you put into the game, the more interesting and FUN it becomes!

    In another thread I compared it to poker. Not as much fun when the stakes are low like a $1-2 limit game but put $500 of chips in front of you at a $5 no limit table and it gets exciting!

    The excitement in this game has nothing to do with trophies unless your base is near maxed. It's all about raiding for big scores! Release the loot SC! At least for TH9!

    Because I've asked myself how does eliminating a players level promote trophy hunting? It doesn't. The badge system is here to stay I understand that. SC wants players to push trophy's and gem resources for unit production because that's the only way to sustain your higher level league badge. But that won't happen outside of the top 200 players, eventually there will be a hardcore 500 players and everyone else will move onto something else. There maybe 8.5 million registered users but most of those will get to TH9 and realize they aren't willing to spend $50 a week to compete and quit.

    The thing I find funniest is that SC seem to be ignoring the fact that many farmers (from what I have read on the forums) are in fact paying customers. They may not gem resources but they do gem construction times. By forcing players to focus on trophy's only you eliminate this revenue stream, these players won't gem resources for unit production on principal. Furthermore you won't save enough resources trophy hunting to pay for defensive upgrades without gemming resources yet again. I'm sure were all aware that the current system is severely flawed, and SC is hoping players will hang around long enough to see an increase in league bonuses. More than likely the increase will be made in small increments over many many months to retain the spike in revenue through players gemming resources before they finally arrive at a point where the league system works.

    We have already seen SC miss out on a Webby award (for what it's worth) not because HG was better, in fact CoC is far far better than that game, but due to player backlash as a result of the last update saw them vote for HG just to send a message to SC (I truly believe this). Incorporating a players level inside the league badge does not take away from the importance of the badge in any way whatsoever. What it does do is show that SC is willing to compromise on issues important to the majority of the community. And that is far more valuable than SC realize at the moment

    There is no compromise. The level badge wasn't removed because Supercell likes the league badge more, it was because they don't want players getting in game respect for what level they are.

    What makes you think they are ignoring that some farmers are paying customers? This isn't a game for them, it's a business. They know the exact break down of how money is being spent on gems. They know how much comes from the top players on the leaderboards, how much comes from the occasional buyers, how much comes from the people that only bought gems once for their 5th builder, etc. I find it hard to believe they had no idea some farmers would be upset with recent changes and would stop buying gems or quit. I find it easy to believe they made a calculated decision to target a specific type of gem buyer and found potential lost farmer revenue to be acceptable.

    Incorporating a players level inside the league badge still defeats the purpose of the badge. Again, there can be no compromise. Either levels will be shown or they won't.

Then they keep altering the game during successive updates to make acquiring resources more time consuming. I'm sure many people have enough free time to just raid more when the loot is reduced. However it is affecting many that were playing perfectly fine before. Not everybody playing is in school with 4+ free hours to play a day. So I'm waiting and hoping they make a change for the better in the next update because this last one has been a slap in the face.
    You are damning supercell for something they haven't done yet. You have no idea how they will tweak the league bonuses. Why not wait and see?

    You have your coc history wrong. Supercell introduced the penalties as a response to farming. Farming was not a response to the penalties.

    If they raise the bonuses trophies will be critical and there's no reason the loots can't be big too.

    Thats EXACTLY what I'm doing! If they sweeten it up enough I'll push on. If its not improved then I will find other gaming options.
