We are already formed with our max th9 (no one even is building th10) against a team which has MAXED TH10. Well, sure they have similiar avarge points like our team, but so what if our opponent will get 6lv wizzards, 4lv dragons etc. to their clan castles which troops our team doesnt even seen.
So please make this more fair play and dont let maxed th10 fight against so weak enemies.
Matchmaking needs to put more weight on the highest bases!
We have almost all TH8s with a couple of TH9s. Sometimes we get a match similar to what you're describing with a TH10. In one case, their TH10 wiped out our top 2 TH9s with no problem, leaving their TH9s to wipe our top TH8s. LUCKILY their lower guys sucked so we ended up winning the war, but they were on track to get a perfect score (45 stars on 15v15), while the most we'd be able to get in a best case scenario is 43/44 because there is no way any of our TH9s could 3 star their TH10.
We've also been on the other side of a mismatch where our opponent was all TH8 and below. Our TH9s had no problem on their top TH8s, and we ended up with a perfect 45. I feel bad for our opponent because they had ZERO POSSIBILITY at getting 45 against us.
This has been the case with my clan too none in my clan is th8 but then also we get matched with opponents with 2 -3 th 8 bases

there are many threads that explain that the longer the search goes on the greater risk that a bad matchup can happen.... so if you cancel and restart your search every 10 min till you get one, that can help your chances of fairness...
But... sounds like the problem that you are having is a lack of diversity. if all of your clan are close to the same ability/defenses you will almost always get pair with a clan that has a few better bases than your best and a few worse than your lowest. as you said.. averaged
This does give the the distinct advantage to be able to crush all but their top few bases. but if you want more straight across matchups you will have to recruit some lower members to bring down your avereage
