Why not try of creates a system of sponsorship for prompt new players?
On principle, it have only a sponsor and a Godson by player.
A system for invitation of new player or already registered.
A system that would make the gift of different resources (troops, gems, elixir, gold,...).
To avoid any abuse the sponsor should have a certain level or number of trophies, the sponsorship is irrevocable.
Don this that would sponsor a Godson and not in both directions.
I made this proposal because a friend just started and abandoned already face the difference of level between us, this allow bearing gap more quickly, for else it will be the way to invite more player and attract them by a more concrete sharing system.
I agree that the idea of gifting or trading resources would be desirable, but why limit the number of players you give to. Instead limit how often and how much can be given. Make the difference in level inversely proportionate to how much you can gift. There must be game balance so make them wait a week before the maximum gift can be given again or make the participants spend gems to give more often.
I would also also like to be able to trade. I have a ton of elixer and my friend has gold. I would love to trade elixer for gold and vice versa.

*An exchange building to convert between elixir, gold, dark elixir, or gems
*Assign multiple builders to one build/upgrade
*Upgradeable builders’ huts – lvl 2 huts for a 5% time decrease?
*Player search function
*Ability to change village name
*Active/ Live “Online Status” examples: colored icons, on/off indicator, etc.
*Indicate last online date
*Remove the “Report” button/feature from global chat. Abused too often, and mute is better solution
