I am a TH10 and have been farming massive amounts of resources in Masters league for months, but, I wanted to go back to old school days and go back down to Gold League just for fun. I haven't left for the past two weeks because its been so much fun. I'm finding collector raids everywhere.

Yes, there were certain times during the day where I had to hit next 50 times. But, this is good for the game. If you were able to find 200k+ every single raid after only 5-10 nexts the game would be too easy and unejoyable in my opinion. This game is supposed to be a challenge. I don't a maxed base handed to me or it be easy. It should require a challenge.
Yes, it is quite a challenge to hit that next button 50 times. Sometimes I miss!! And you're not in Gold right now, you're in Crystal 2. I note you have a completely maxed camp, except some walls to go. Congrats! But of course, you wouldn't really notice how bad the drought of elixir is out there when you have no need for it really!

I disagree with pretty much everything you said...

First, I was in gold before I signed off last night. If you look closely at my base you will see my DE sitting outside my base so people can take it freely. This causes my defenses won to be very high. I have gained over 50 defenses in 3 days. I just started putting it outside base again 3 days ago after I sent my hounds to max.

Second, my walls are not maxed yet, so, of course I need and hunt elixir. That doesn't make any sense that you would say I don't need it.

And thank you for the congrats, I have been playing the game for a long time. I have a maxed gold grab due to many hours of farming. If loot was really THAT BAD, i wouldn't have wasted my time. I would have gotten sick of it. But, I adjusted and was able to figure out ways to make the current loot situation work in my favor....which I should also add...CHANGES A LOT

Yes, you do need a few walls, but I guess I'm saying that as a nearly maxed TH10, you don't have the same need as a TH9 or 10 who still has numerous lab updrades to get done. And with elixir situation as it is now, it is nearly impossible to get that elixir. I'm a casual gamer - real life doesn't allow me to be barching every 20 minutes for hours on end. So having to next >50 times is not acceptable to me. At the same time, I'm not expecting a 200/200 base to come along in 5 nexts. I do expect to be able to find an elixir profit within 10-20 nexts. That is really hard to find at this time, even with the bonus buff. I'm in Master 3 currently. Did a few attacks this AM with loonian. 4 attacks, 4 wins. My gross take with league bonus: 784K gold, 851K elixir, 3600 DE. Minus out nexting costs - maybe 75K for 4 battles, and troop/spell costs of about 550K for 4 battles, and 1800 DE for troops in 4 battles. So net profit with 4 wins is: about 700K gold, 300K elixir, and 1800 DE. That's about 175K gold, 75K elixir and 450 DE per battle. I can live with the gold and DE profit - not great, but I'm a casual player so I don't have unrealistic expectations. But the elixir profit is about worthless. Making 75K per attack means I need to make 100,000 attacks to be able to afford level 7 archers!! That's crazy!

SuperCell isn't trying to be greedy, they are trying to make a cool game for people to enjoy playing and it's a tremendous challenge.. not to mention an ever evolving challenge. In order for the game to stay interesting, they have to change things and add content which will ultimately have an effect on the game and it's gameplay. They do their best to make necessary changes that will help and be good for the game but that may not always be the case, once again, it's a tremendous challenge and no one/no company/no game is perfect. They work hard to keep the game as balanced as they can when implementing updates and changes, adding new units/structures/spells/TH levels/etc., you have to believe that whether you like it or not.

The last thing Supercell wants to do is go backwards. They're not about putting out an update and then just backing those updates out because a portion of their player base are dissatisfied. The only time this sort of thing really happens generally is if they release a seasonal update around the holidays or whatever and then they change the game back shortly after that holiday or season ends. An example would be in the winter when they update the game and snow collects on your structures and the trees, logs, etc. in and around your base. Then spring comes along and they update the game and the snow stops because it's not winter any more. Or right now with all the pumpkin related things popping up around our bases and tombstones which will surely stop before long I anticipate. They'd rather look at the change (let's say changing lvl6 walls and up being able to be upgraded using elixir) and determine if to their satisfaction it's having the desired effect on the game or if to them (the creators of the game in the first place) something isn't working as intended and may need to be adjusted or perhaps as a last resort, be changed back to the way it was before.

Let's not forget, people used to lament that walls were such a pain in the higher levels to upgrade because they're so expensive and that it was hard to farm enough gold for them or that their elix storages would always be full and they had nothing left to upgrade with their elixir but they were still struggling to get enough gold to not only finish updating all their super expensive defenses but also their walls! Personally, although it clearly wasn't a perfect, satisy everyone fix, they gave everyone (with lvl 6 walls and up) a way to make it easier to upgrade their walls without putting so much stress and emphasis on needing so much gold. People get so dramatic and are so ridiculously disrespectful at times as if Supercell is sitting around scheming for ways to just completely ruin their good thing they have going on here, all in the name of being the most greedy they can possibly be. People who feel this way need a reality check, that is ridiculous. They want this game to be super fun and popular so that as many people as possibly can enjoy it and hopefully that will lead to more people getting into the game and in return, most hopefully generate lots more money for the company, which is a GOOD thing!! The more money they make the better they can support the game, come up with awesome updates, test them out first to make sure they have a positive impact on how gameplay will be once the update is released, etc.

Thank you Supercell for making this one of the most fun games I've ever played, you guys do great work.
Can we PLEASE stop typing LIKE this, it REALLY gets annoying.

Yes, it has to do with greed, I outiined why, and even that a pro capitalistic gov would eventually out the smack down on garbage moves like these updates sooner or later.

You just don't want to hear it so Im not going to waste my time. Besides, the sheer number of people complaining and quiting prove your opinion is wrong.

    Cheers.

Thanks for the laugh though. I needed it. They want to make the game more challenging. Lololololololo

Holy wall of text.... I've edited it down to just talk about this specific aspect of your post. You mentioned going backwards, but how about all of the nerfs they've done over the past year? Witches, hogs, heroes....all nerfed, in other words, moving backwards. Sometimes moving backwards is the best way to go.

You crack me up with this statement "something isn't working as intended and may need to be adjusted." In SuperCell speak that means:

It's screwing up our gem sales so we are going to nerf it. Except in the case of hereos where they figured they'd milked all the gemmers who maxed their heroes and then they nerfed them.

It's funny how when something is affecting their gem sales they will roll back that aspect in a flash (hogs weren't OP, they were just too cheap and easy to use so no gem sales for SuperCell).

They want you to gem. That's the bottom line. If you just do a casual analysis of all the changes they've made since the Softbank purchase they all have the same goal. Make it harder to play unless you gem.

And until this loot drought starts costing them money, nothing will change.

    It's a business, don't ever think otherwise.

to the OP: Most people can't stay on for hours at a time to BARCH the league bonus. We want to be able to build a Miniball army and find a fat base to attack once every 40 minutes. I don't think it's too much to ask to be able to find 300/300/2k every 40 minutes. At that rate I won't be maxing my walls any time soon....and I already have a 1.2 billion gold grab.

To say any one factor 100% determines decisions is ridiculous. I'd sign off on 50% motivated by gem sales, or even 75%. But stop with the nonsense that it is all they consider. If so this game would be extremely different.

Hogs were nerfed because the risk/reward was completely out of line with every other unit. Come on. This is simple, obvious stuff.

Finally, if all these people who threaten to quit actually did, SC would notice. You can bet they track things like the number of users who log in daily, and for how long on average. Significant movements in those metrics likely predict gem sales. These guys know what they are doing. A game like this isn't an accident.

That all said, loot sucks. See? Win/win.

You know what Pete...the first 9 months I played this game I truly believed SuperCell was different than all the other gaming companies I've played over the years (and I'm old so I've played a lot of these). But they've beaten me down completely. Since the Softbank purchase, all I see is changes that don't add to the game, but add to their pocket book.

I just can't help but be cynical now. Really the last straw for me was SuperSteve coming on to the forum and promising us heroes would be available on offense while upgrading for Clan Wars....of course that was bad information. I won't give them the benefit of the doubt or any of my hard earned $$$ any more.

Its not that I disagree with you. I think you are partly correct, but to say there is no other motivation than money is taking it too far. I'm sure there are developers working on the game who genuinely want people to enjoy it. Also, anyone making business decisions knows that happy customers continue to make purchases. Unhappy ones do not.

As far as Steve goes, he clearly was confused. The forums were incredibly hectic when clan wars was coming out. He either misinterpreted the question or the info from SC. It wasn't malicious.

Although I'd love to see heroes usable too, I understand the other point of view. The point of strategy games is to make decisions. "Do I spend my 7m on this upgrade or that one?" "Do I upgrade my hero now for more strength later while sacrificing strength now?" Same type of deal.

Now yes, the 3rd alternative is to just gem the hero. That is your choice, and I think it is cool we have the choice. If this game was all about money heroes would be a $$$ purchase only. Huge difference, and one that you all seem to ignore.

I bet you if we sat down with the developers and had a beer, we would love them. I'm sure they are very good people. And your point about happy customers is spot on, that's why I'm so confused at what SuperCell is doing here with this latest update.

And please notice I didn't call Steve a "liar." I said it was "bad information." Again, I'm sure I'd really like Steve if we met in person, but the fact is that they told us one thing that got everyone extremely excited and it was wrong.

And I never ignore the fact it's a free game...I constantly post that before December I use to spend money every month. I chose to spend because I truly believed they cared and were giving us a great product. I don't believe that anymore so I will continue to voice my frustrations and if they fix it...I will start breaking out the credit card again!

The ONLY reason I complain is because this was such a great game and the number of people playing it proves that. If I thought there was no hope, I'd just quit.
