    Selective clan war participation.

Clan wars are fun however, we are finding them to be a challenge to coordinate effectively. Too often members are absent, uninterested, or otherwise unable to participate for one reason or another. This leads to wars being lost, the fun being drained (from war), and precious resources squandered. If that wasn't negative a impact enough, this is also leading to division within clans and two distinct types are beginning to emerge; clans that war and clans that don't. Even for designated "war" clans, the fun is being replaced by rigidity and intolerance.

    Suggested means of combating this.
Add a 12-24 hour period before a match up is made for members to opt-in for war. Once match-up begins, you cannot join or leave until war is over.

Give leaders and co-leaders the ability to select who can participate in war via an eligibility flag.

    A combination of the two.

    This would be amazing!
We have members who don't log on very often or don't have time to attack or aren't interested in wars. We are a small clan of mostly friends so having 3 people unable to attack in a 15v15 makes it really difficult. We don't want to kick people from the clan for the sake of clan wars, that would be ridiculous! These people still log on occasionally for troops donations, do some upgrades and maybe some raiding.
Pleeeeaaasssseeee(!!!!) Supercell, allow us to select members to participate in wars!!

Starting to see similar posts, gleefully this will garner their attention. I can see this ripping my clan apart too and we're a 45-50 person clan. The only way to make it work would be to kick for not participating and that just seams ridiculous. Come on guys, this is a huge issue which needs to be fixed ASAP!

    I posted something similar today.
I totally agree is necessary to implement a system to control who fights at war because people who can't or doesn't want to attack makes war more difficult and so less interesting.

How about the people who don't want to fight drop out themselves? That way leaders can't gang up on a single member by not allowing him to join the wars

This would be the best update possible at this time. We war once a week, but with school, sports, work etc. not everyone can participate.
That is 6 potential stars lost because a person has a life other than CoC. (Hard to believe I know, but there are some out there)
if someone will be unable to participate in a war they should be able to opt out before the leader begins the war search.

Thumbs Up Opt In or Opt Out.

Our clan was just talking about this last week. Right now I ask players that are not able to participate to lower their trophies to be the odd man out, or be booted and then rejoin after the Preparation day starts. To have the option for players to opt in or out, and have Co-leaders and leaders override those features would be amazing!

This idea has been suggested multiple times. Please do a search before you post.

With that said, I'm a huge supporter of these ideas, however I wish everyone would comment on one thread than a bunch of little threads because that would attract Supercell's attention more. This idea is not currently ruled out or considered so I hope supercell will consider it.

    Stop being lazy.

Ask which members want to war or not.

I hope supercell doesn't make this an update.

Currently loving wars! Especially the non active clan that opts to go to Waaarrrr.... A laugh for my clan and me...

Even if you ask members whether they want to war, the only solution is to kick and invite. This upsets donation counts(which some clans use to determine promotions and whatnot). I think it would be much "better" if they could stay out of war without having to be kicked.
