I really didn't care about his opinion (this was global people). But i have seen quite a few times where someone gets harrassed over gemming.

I don't see the issue, if you've got the money and your serious about the game then go for it. Just make sure you don't rush as thats generally a bad idea, and keep up on learning about any new troops you unlock.

    Thoughts?

PS: If you have any stories about getting raged at over gems lets hear it.

Looks like you've been hanging out with the wrong type of gemmers. Try those in IIB or Kings Rock and you will feel so bad about your raiding skills that you'll never brew a Gowipe ever again.

Check out the top 200, odds are whichever base you look at is a "gemmers" base and I understand they are all fairly decent players.

To everyone (not directed at quoted post):

Has anyone got a definition for 'gemmer' as I'm pretty sure a lot of the best farmers would have boosted now and again so are they gemmers as well? At what point do you cross the line and why when the game only exists because of them is it a dirty word in CoC?

I agree people who have premmie bases tend to lack certain skills as they have jumped ahead but premmie & gemmer are not the same thing imo and farmers can suck at CW too if they have only ever barched and not worked on expensive army set ups.

The thoughts of a casual gemmer. Apparently admitting you have a problem is the first step!

There is many good gemmer in the game, some of them are peoples second accounts, but if you want to see good gemmers just look at the top 200 leaderboards. All those people are good gemmers

Why would you flame a gemmer even if you did get proof that they suck?

    !
I'm pretty sure that there has been a discussion on this recently. After many many opinions and much flaming no consensus on a definition was reached.

The only logical conclusion is that anyone who has ever used any gems -including in game gems - could be considered a gemmer. Very few people would not have taken advantage of the 1 gem boosts that we have.

OP - I'm very 'pro farming' in my clan and I have actively discouraged other people from gemming. Part of that is that I don't want people to be under pressure to improve quickly but a larger part is that we have younger people in the clan. If you're an adult and you can afford to spend your own hard earned cash on the game - go for it. If you are under 18 and spending on your parents credit card...... maybe not!

If I get "Raged at" for any reason it's meah for me - I have 6 year olds who do that when they can't get the toy they want, mute or report if offensive but i'm not listening to what they rage about.

Gemming has zero to do with skill or lack of skill- i know as many very skilled gemmers as non gemmers.

The beauty of this game is gems can buy you nothing other than time - you can do everything without gems, having said that at a very high cup level there is not enough time to do what they do without gems.

I buy gems - I use them for troops for donations, occasionally for videos and for pushes - I simply don't have the time otherwise.

Some buy gems for resources, I don't but I have zero issue with people who do - it's just time at the end of the day.

Some buy gems without knowing what they are doing, this is fine in my book as it gives me easy farming raids.

But at the end of the day this is an entertainment product and I have zero issue paying for good entertainment, but what I LOVE in this game as opposed to the majority of others (i've been trying out other gams for my second channel recently) is you don't get "buy, buy, buy" thrown at you all the time.

So if you are a gemmer - high five you are helping the developers, if you are not big respect you are doing it the longer but equally valid way, if you have a "credit card base" then you might want to figure out the excuses when your mom gets her monthly bill....but thanks for the loot

I spammed away my early gems, before i realised I'd need that builder.... rather than start again, I paid £2.99 to get the gems for him ...... Haven't bothered since then - I generally have enough from in game gemms, to boost a barracks or two when I have the time, and my level of play only just about keeps my builders and lab busy anyway.....

(burning my way through the 1000 gems from reaching masters, at the moment)

Not bothered if people gem or not --- but some of those rushed TH10 in chrystal do make you smile, and I spose that is probably what comes to mind when somebody shouts "gemmer" in a dergoatory fashion.

I know two of the younger members in our clan, used itunes giftcards, to get gemms for their Burger King recently - nobody raged at them, it's a game afterall ....
Supercell neutered my beloved Zaps.... Oh well, adapt and survive... Now BAMing in a league near you, with max rage...
    Bring on the BAMfury! !!!!

Lol guys, when I said "I have yet to find one ingame" I meant one trying to join our clan or in global (which I don't use anymore) and because most of us are TH8s I doubt someone from the top 200 would be in either scenario

Laugh at them. Having to wait for 100+ gems is silly if you have the disposable cash. So let the Trolls have their moment and then go build up 5 things at a time.
