good question. after centralizing the CC troops (if those are ground troops), just look where's the closer defense, and send 1-2 balloons towards it, so the balloons "go above" the CC troops.
if the troops are archers, 1 balloons is enough!
if those are wizards, 1 balloons will kill all archers and almost kill the wizards (if they are level 5+). if you want to kill the wizards with balloons only, send 2 balloons together (not one after the other, but two together, for more splash damage).
also, if there are many CC troops, release the balloons close to them, if not, release the balloon a bit more far, so the balloons will be destroyed right above the CC troops.
if minions come out of the CC, use about 10 of your minions and your archer queen.
same about a dragon. just lead it to a place with 1 minion, then drop minions around it (1 by 1, so a hit from a dragon will kill 1 minion only), and the archer queen.
i get a dragon in the CC maybe like once in 10 raids, so it's not too common...but still, you can take care of it.
same about balloons too...

Why you would farm with loonian before masters is beyond me. You can core a DE storage with Barch in crystal if your AQ is up.

1) i like attacking once an hour
2) it works 90% of the times, while with barch you'll fail many times, especially against tough defenses.
3) for the heroes you'll need to wait around 40+ minutes anyway (and without them you have no chance at all)

Having enough time between raids is a very valid point for just using loonion opposed to barch.

BUT if i'm sitting on 50k+ omw to 75k de and I go offline for and hour, its likely i'm going to get raided and about a 33-50% chance that they will get 1-2.5k de from me. I try to attack in the mornings for a while and then the evenings in an attempt to get the most out of the shields. If I break a shield to raid for 1.5k and aren't online for an hour and get raided for 1.5k, that doesn't work for me.

Barching de in G1 is so easy. I've had some gems and been boosting the rax and queen and usually get a base with a second layer storage for 800+ at least. Raiding constantly, it's not difficult to net 10-15k or more in the 2hr boost.

I can see using loonion for some more advanced bases which often will be the ones with 2.5k de sitting in the middle.

I failed several times with loonz level 5 and minions level 2 ( 28 loonz and 30 minions ) with 2 or 3 healing spells that are level 4.

Maybe the problem is that I get too far... attacking th 9 and 10 with all infernos and level 3 air xbows...
Anyway, my big issue were the clan castle troos which are hard to kill with 30 minions on level 2, I mean I kill them but I am left with 10-15 minions ( at best ) and most of the time they cannot get to the center...

if the CC troops are ground troops (arch/wiz) you can kill them with 1-2 balloons!! just use few minions to gather them in one point and then release a balloons over them (the distance depends on the ammount of CC troops, and the release location should be in a way that the balloon will go to the nearest defense and above the CC troops).

While balloning for DE can be fun, it will never come close to the DE/H number of using giants and tier one at either one of the crystal leauges. Main reason being build time and the fact that you use DE to get DE, which to me is kinda like using giants to farm elixir. Not really efficent. So while it might be fun, it most certainly isnt ''The ultimate guide for massive dark elixir farming''. It is the '' fun, yet not very efficent'' method of farming.

My 2 cents on the matter.
