You mentioned the attack average being skewed caused by position movement within the clan. I can't see where this would become a problem in skewing the numbers. I understand what you presented. If I'm position 10 today and 7 tomorrow my results will be based off the wars indivisually and I'm still going to have a relative +,- range.

I don't consider the recommended targets to be reliable. Typically my recommended target is far lower than the base I usually attack. I base my attacks on how close the opponents th lvl is to mine. With that said the opponents i typically attack are in the range of +2 , -2 of my position. I 3 starred a +4 yesterday and a - 1. From my experience and that of my clan mates is natural for us to attack the opponent that reflects our position rather than the recommended target.
It would be subjective when you base your attacks based on opponents TH with yours. You always have the case of premature, developing, and maxed bases. If you attack +2 or -2 of your position on your clan, it would depend on who you are up against. To my previous example, if you are in a war that favors you to win (your clan is much stronger than opponent), then your position of #12 out of #20 will more than likely give you the ability to attack much higher (more than your typical +2) in order to satisfy the opponent's base being very similar to your current base. Likewise, if you are paired against a clan much stronger, your based compared to theirs will be much lower than your typical -2. Also, for members that are either #1 on the hill or #last position, these average numbers will not be good for them. This means, #1 will always have to attack opponent #1 to break even and once they attack #2, they will always have a -1, assuming that they always hit #1 and #2, which means their average will not be good. Vice versa if the person is last position, they always attack up, which gives their average much higher number than what it might be...?

Like I mentioned before if someone's average position is displayed it will give context for their attack range. If someone's avg position is typicall #1-3 it'll give context to their -2 attack range. It still displays they contend with high lvl opponents, and based on avg stars you can judge success. Same with lower positions, if they attack up and have a +5, it can be viewed in context.
Yes sometimes your clan will be matched with weaker opponents, and sometime with stronger opponents. Thus we arrive at the term "averages".

It's may not even have to be that detailed. Each clan during war could be broken up into colored tiers. If 40 people are involved in the war for your clan, each tier would contain 10 people per say. The top 10. 11-20. 21-30. 31-40.
With that said your stat could be which average tier your in, and your success vs other clans memebers in that pier. Say your in the 21-30 rage which let's say is represented by red. Well when we see red in the profile, we know your typically in the lower half of clans you been involved with, position wise. Then show an avg. star against opponents in the same tier...show avg against all tiers ...so then we could view success against stronger opponents in higher tiers, and success or lack their of against opponents in lower tiers

    Very nice idea

This a great, and well thought out, idea! This would help our clan - clan w/da plan (looking for active and dedicated members)- out a bunch. WAY TO REPRESENT SOJO!

If their were war statistics I believe it would be easier to seperate the good players from pretenders.
Statistics I think should be available are as follows : Total wars involved in - this helps determine someone's experience
Possible attacks/attacks made - this would show if they are reliable during wars or if they tend to miss attacks and hurt their clan.
Average stars per attack ex. 1.87 - This shows ones ability or inability to get the job done during war
Attack range - this would show the average base position attacked compared to the players own. For ex. during war the given player is in the 12 position on his team. He may attack someone who is 25th on the other team, aquire 3 stars and boost his star avg per war. However if an attack range avg was available it would be apparent the player attacks positions quite a bit lower than himself, revealing he's not as strong a player as he may appear. If a 12th position player attacks a 12th position player on the other team, his avg should be 0. Meaning he neither goes up or down to attack but attacks on par with his own postion. If the player were to attack someone who were 8th on the opposing team it would be averaged in as a +4 to show he attacks people higher than himself.
If a player had a 1.75 star per war average, with a +2 attack range it would be known he's a productive player against stronger opponents. Also if someone had 2.5 stars with an attack range avg of -9 you would know he preys on weaker bases and may not be able to compete with opponents who are close to his lvl range, which would devalue him as a potential recruit.
I firmly believe this statistic being incorpated would add depth to the game giving more tools to those striving to build a strong clan.
I was thinking the same thing and found your thread before I started a new one. I love this idea!

Yeah guys I accidentally started a similar thread but bump this one.

I been doing something similar to what you're talking about on a spreadsheet posted in our clan group page. Here's an example, and not necessarily how I think it SHOULD look, just what I've stuck with.

P.S. No laughing at our stats! : )
