@Johnnypants: I like the general idea. But when thinking about further mechanics, it sounds more and more difficult to conceptualize. For instance, we need to look at some key questions. What type of structure is the boss monster classified as? Defense, Any, Resource, or Wall. This will affect what troop compositions are used to attack. Next, what is the reward for this? Why would a whole clan invest so much Elixer in resources for this task? Does this affect how trophies are gathered? Can any TH attack any Tier for the loot? There are many more questions, but it seems too difficult to implement anytime in the near future.
