Level 6 Archers: are they worth it?

I'm just considering upgrading to level 6 archers. While the small increment in damage and hit points is sometimes going to be a benefit, what is definitely in the negative column is that every time you raise a barch or BAM army, it is going to be 50% more expensive, assuming you do both archers and barbs to level 6.

At the moment, a full army is 30k of elixir for full barch, meaning it rises to 45k. That's every time! I'm not convinced this upgrade is worth it in terms of farming.

Good point, especially in the current Loot Hell. Barb6 has pretty good survivability so he is probably worth it. Archer6 just doesn't bring enough to the table to justify the elixir drain. I wish I could go back to archer5.

Way to go with the epic revive. :P second of all it is worth the upgrade people seem to expect like 8 extra DPS for a one troop slot troop.

Yes, definitely get them... here's why:
1) The cost is lowered thanks to the level seven archers
2) Many high-level clans have them as a requirement to join
3) Level 5 mortars take two shots to destroy them (as a TH 9, TH 8's are still a viable form of farming)
4) Level 6 wizard towers take two shots to destroy them
5) Can represent a certain "status" but less so now that level 7 archers are out.

Cons:
1) Still an expensive upgrade... it's now 6.5 Million, I think.
2) Takes forever in the lab
3) Cost 100 elixir more than level five archers (per unit)

Don't be a penny pincher! Just do the upgrade. Its really funny when you see a strong th9/10 with lvl 5 archers. pretty sad too

Even if revived, the only good reasons I see to do it is...

-Lvl 5 Mortars Take 2 Shots
-Lvl 6 Wiz Towers Take 2 Shots

I did it before they dropped the price. It was a tough pill to spend that much money on such a small gain. I ended up upgrading everything else first and did them last.

Overall there is not as much value to doing it as say level 6 giants but its still a gain. In numbers they can take down defenses fast... and still die just as fast from a good mortar hit. If you got the funds and got the more valuable upgrades done, do it.
