Right +1 ...
Some of them explain why.
I Like to play clash and like turtles.
Well, I'm new but I hate repeating myself over and over on hundreds threads that don't need to be open. Plus, it simply bumps the thread again (who cares about 10 threads with a Cat saying "Closing this thread now because...." on General first page?).
OP, it's usually because of duplicate threads or subject is not open for discussion (refer to Forum Rules). There is no point to let the thread open when a question is already answered (but people keep trolling, making fun of a post, posting purposeless posts, calling names...). A few other threads that are too old and the information posted is not relevant anymore (don't go post that archer 6 cost is not 7.5M now when the question asked was in early 2014 for example, save it for a more recent question).
I closed about 20+ threads on headstone yesterday to prevent them from being bumped again. Headstone discussion should go to this thread now: The-Halloween-Headstone-thread. Old discussions about headstone were just speculation/asking for info and have same info repeated over and over, which makes merging them into a big thread looks like ...well I don't know what it is but it's not pretty.
Have I answered your question?
Edit: wait, am I supposed to close this thread now I commented?

I started a thread in the ideas and feature requests sub forum. It was regarding next costs, a unique idea, not "give me easy money for doing nothing", neither was this idea in the ruled out section.
It lay dormant for a few months, I dont bump my threads. However I posted a link to it on a thread regarding this topic asking others to check it out and comment on it, letting someone else bump it.
Within minutes it was deleted, not closed, without explanation. I pm'ed a mod asking for clarification on why this thread was deleted to which I got a reply "I don't know why that was moved off the forum - perhaps it has been already ruled out.". In a rather timely matter.
I sent another pm to the same mod stating that this idea was not ruled out. I am still currently waiting on a reply to this and the thread is still unavailable for viewing.
In essence a agree with your point that it is very frustrating when you don't know when mods take certain actions.
