Defense Upgrade Schedule for the rest of my TH 8 time

Im th 8 sitting in Gold 2 with 1528 cups. I rushed to Th 8 but now see the error of my ways and have spent the last 2 months playing catch-up focusing all my efforts on defense. I am going to max th8 before I go up with the exception of possibly the healer (never use) and some of the most expensive de research. Going to try to get Bk to 10, he is 3 now and i'll have the required de for lv 4 and a free builder by the end to the week. I'm making decent progress as my 3 og mortars and wiz tw are maxed at lv6, slowly working mortar #4 in when possible. All walls pink with about 1/4 purple. AD all 5 with one going to 6. Tesla, one is 3 one is going to 3 and the other is still 2. All my cannons and At are lv 7. I have 4 builders and have been a decent job farming to keep them all busy all the time except when a upgrade ends over night, i;ll start something else in the am, so the builder is free for a few hours while i sleep. My question is do I go ahead and keep a builder free now and get to work on the walls or wait till all the defense is maxed then do walls? Any suggestions or advice is appreciated.

No point keeping builder free. Always keep builder busy. Just squeeze a wall or two between upgrades. When you're new enjoy the lix. Later tou might want to keep a builder free since you are Gonna have millions of lix and no lab.

If you are actively farming, keep an open builder. You need to finish those level 8 walls at TH 8. Otherwise you will be finishing them at TH 10. It would work the same if you are willing to leave 4 builders idle for a month while you do walls. But we both know that will not happen.

What GoWiWi said, if you are a new th8 with lots of upgrades to do then crack on with them and just use up spare cash/pink when you get a spare builder on the odd wall to keep looting you pointless.

Thanks for the reply's guys. Seems like walls and research cost/time really get you at the end of TH8. is there anyway to avoid having multiple days back to back with no builder free and nothing to dump war loot in. My clan wars non-stop and after the war ends the bonus usually jump-starts or finished the last chuck needed for the next upgrade. if i don't have a builder free or coming free very soon i try to not just sit on a lot of loot, 200k-600k is my comfort zone. if im sitting on 600k and the war ends then i got over a mil each and become the next big target to every th 9 & 10. And yes i learned my lesson for rushing to th8 with a barely functioning th 6 defense and walls. Got tired of giving away all my loot i worked so hard to steal from others. I know it happens and part of the game just trying to minimize my contributions to the loot problem.

Try to stagger builder time if you can, but other than that and using 'spare' loot on the odd wall then nope, you'll have to take the odd hit.
