Just imagine what will happen the first time the OP buys a new car and makes the mistake of driving it off the lot. When the value of something you have paid for goes down you do not get the difference. Ever. When next years model of anything comes out last year's model goes down in price or nobody would buy it.

You do realize people have upgraded there archer a LONG time ago, they aren't complaining.

I worked damn hard to get 7.5 million for my L6 archer upgrade. then 3 weeks later, SC comes out with an update (the lava hound update) that reduces L6 archer upgrade to 6mil and L7 archer for 7.5 mil.
I should be reimbursed some gems for that extra 1.5 mil that i had to gem since getting elixir up to 7.5 mil is impossible since people keep raiding me due to my rich status.

SC needs to give all those people, who upgraded pre-lava hound update, gems to compensate for the difference.

It averages out because there is no elixir to farm anymore since it's all in peoples walls.

This sounds like the same guy that made this same complaint right after the update.

That thread was closed fairly quickly.

Enough people gave real world examples as to why you won't be compensated OP.
