Thread: CLAN WARS - Can we organise our thoughts?

    • Increase DE reward significantly - YES
    • Clan member "Opt In/Out" feature - YES
    • Clan War Donation stats - YES
    • Extended battle time (i.e. 4 minutes) - NO. 3 minutes is enough. More than that will ruin it.
    • War Stats Page - YES
    • Revenge War/ Grudge Match - NO. It will get boring attacking the same clan. And it will force you to change war base layouts. Too much work, IMO.
    • Star Loot Multiplier - YES
    • Clan OPT in / out - this allows all clans into the same pot. Then match making happens this should improve the match making - NO. No need for this.
    • Tag a Oppoents base as a "preferred target for player x" - YES

    Why should the winners only get 200k gold, because you are unable to defeat them, and unwilling to try?

    As a result of withdrawal they save significant resources.. And can get straight back into another war, should they wish...
    The numbers are just that.. But they should get something.

    Suggestions or improvement to Clan Wars
    Increase DE reward significantly - Yes - Yes - DE reward is still very low.
    Clan member "Opt In/Out" feature - saves alot of kicking and inviting back each war.
    Clan War Donation stats - Maybe - only if it can track when u remove the troops from your CC.
    Extended battle time (i.e. 4 minutes) - No - 3 minutes is plenty.
    War Stats Page - Yes - its always good to get more stats.
    Revenge War/ Grudge Match - No - This will lead to clans making deals like you guys smash top bases and we wont attack, then revenge war and do other way around.
    Star Loot Multiplier - Yes - would be good to make more people think about 3 starring than just 50%.
    Clan OPT in / out - this allows all clans into the same pot. Then match making happens this should improve the match making.
    Tag a Oppoents base as a "preferred target for player x"- Yes - that way you can set an army for a specific base.
    Abandon WAR - allows strategic withdrawal from war before war day. opponent gets some free loot - NO - Imagine waiting all prep day, getting army ready then 1 minute before war start day they withdraw.

    Dont see the big deal... If i had a big army prep'd id just go to multiplayer and earn 400k with it... But thats just me i guess

    The heros change is the single most important thing for me. Having 1 or 2 heros down makes such a massive difference to being able to hit solid TH10 bases. Not being able to use heros in war has made me stop actively updating them recently.

    on the other suggestions:

    Increase DE reward significantly - Yes (never say no to free loot - gowipe/gowiwi is expensive too)
    Clan member "Opt In/Out" feature - not fussed about this
    Clan War Donation stats - No - In my view it's not really needed.
    Extended battle time (i.e. 4 minutes) - No - it's good to have time as a challenge - extending the timer would remove a certain dimension of CW.
    War Stats Page - yes
    Revenge War/ Grudge Match - No - I think this could be exploited
    Star Loot Multiplier - No - This fixes one "problem", but could introduce others. The current system works fine in my view.
    Clan OPT in / out - this allows all clans into the same pot. Then match making happens this should improve the match making - I don't really understand this idea
    Tag a Oppoents base as a "preferred target for player x" - Yes, but to be permitted at leaders discretion
    Abandon WAR - allows strategic withdrawal from war before war day. opponent gets some free loot - Undecided on this - It would be nice to know if a clan has given up, so the winning team can go back to farming. But some players on the winning team might want to go on - set a record, go for a cheap snipe etc. Plus this feature might be used too early and rob us of some great comebacks, or you could have a co go rouge and troll the clan.

    For me I don't care that they are NOT available if im upgrading however my biggest gripe is that as I understand the match making still takes into account the level of your Heros irrespective of the fact that they are updgrading or not.. If this is the case then this is just flawed and acts simply as an aide to make ppl thinking about gemming the upgrade prior war commencing.

    The Concept would mean changing the way that WAR is matched.

    For example: Clans that want to War press the button to "OPT in".

    The Match Making is NOT performed at that point.. instead it runs in the background once EVERY 24hrs. The problem here would obviously be the start /end time of the war... but im sure we can come up with a solution for that if it allows for better / more equal match ups.

    Any Clans in the "Un-Matched" War Pot are then matched.. This would therefore include more Clans to be potentially matched with, instead of how it is now where it depends how many other clans are searching at the time you hit the button...

    As a clan leader, I really would like to be able to better organize my wars and who is going to attack who. Leaders should have some kind of board on which they can decide of the war organization, based on chat discussions.

    I also would need to be able to send personal messages to clan members, it's very difficult when the only discussion channel you have is a clan chat.

    Regarding withdrawal, not sure I agree. In our clan, we always decide once we have an opponent if we will attack or not depending on wether the match looks fair or not. Last war, we decided not to attack as our opponent was way stronger. On the war day, after they have been attacking like 10 times, we noticed their top players where attacking our bases 15 to 20. This made us change our mind completely as even if they were getting very good stats, we knew that would get them into trouble by the end. We then decided to attack, and finally won this war with 2 stars ! A war is never lost, even if your opponent is way stronger than you are, you still can win if they are bad attackers, have bad strategy, or their clan is not active enough ;-)

    btw, our strategy if we think we will not attack is to still fill in cc but with archers only. Doesn't cost much, still helps a lot, and might be needed "just in case" ;-)

    Completely agree with your suggestions. Last war I got paired up with a clan that had like 20 bases with lvl9 walls and my clan only has like 1 or 2 with lvl9 walls... they need to weigh on walls as well. I think to avoid fights within clan members during wars about taking a person's target, we could be able to "set a target" like you go to the opponent's side and click "select as your target" and when you tap on the town hall it can say "targeted by person's name." Probably would be a bit pointless feature, but it could come in handy...
