You call it a great idea, back it up. Convince me as to why it's a great idea. I gave very clear proof as to why it's a terrible idea; it makes the lightning spell obsolete. And all I see from you is 'I can keep it near my dark elixir to keep it safe', and "I think it's a great idea". Both completely subjective, and not thinking about possible repercussions of the idea. If you make an argument, you gotta be able to back it up. Then again, with a topic like this you really can't back it up

You only get one you decide where you place it. It's strategy just like you said zapping is.

If a guy can use 5 lightning spells on me I should have a way to defend a small area. And it doesn't have to pop up let it be seen. Then the people will actually have to attack if they want something not just drop spells and take it.

What I asked is, why is it a great idea. Lemme elaborate, how does this defense further the game and/or improve it?

Saying "it's strategy", doesn't make it a good idea........

Have the effective area about the size of a tesla hell even less that doesn't make the spell obsolete at all.

Kinda does, would you use one of your precious 5 spell slots for a spell that may not work, due to the possibility of a rod popping up?

"less strategy"? Really? It's usually a good thing to make sense in an argument

Are they not earning it by taking the 2 & 1/2 hours to cook the spells, and by giving up 100k+ elixir, for a few hundred DE?

No they're not. And like I said let the lightning rod be visible then they can plan their attacks. You must be a zapper.
