The thing that annoys me with heroes is the increase in cooldown. Id rather have a lvl 1 BK that i can use every hour than aa lvl 30 BK that i have to wait 4 hours before i can use it again.

I have only one possible thing to spend dark elixir on atm, BK (I'm TH7 and still haven't got him. I will after but I need a few upgrades beforehand).
Not going to bother getting a dark barracks as IMO those troops aren't worth it.

High leveled heroes can secure you a win and tear up the rest of your opponent's base if your main troops failed.

Farming TH9 till I get both level 30 heroes and all lava core. TH10 SUCKS!!!
Do your part in improving the loot: Tell all new users and Android users to max collectors first so we can farm them.

If I had more DE I'd upgrade my BK. Troops aren't worth it (besides Golem) in my opinion.
Umm, there isn't an option for me: I only use DE to upgrade DE troops. I don't use DE troops and I don't upgrade my Heros.

Agree all the more since + 5 % in strength implies + 10% in time so up is a trap
