X-bow is short for crossbow. Sorry for stating the obvious. I write x-bow in chat, but I pronounce it crossbow in my head.

This is correct. Sometimes people write merry x-mas but they say merry Christmas. It's an abbreviation.

I pronounce it Ecks Bow because that is normally how you pronounce the letter X.

I pronounce it ecks-bow. i see how it is made to resemble a crossbow but for argument sake, if supercell wanted it to be called a crossbow they woulda named it that. crossbow is not such a long name that it had to be abbreviated. aslo it shoots rapid fire, something a crossbow does not. I think the x-bow was intentional and meant to sound like ecks-bow because it fires elixir.

    -just my opinion

It's meant to be a crossbow? Traditional crossbows are not fully automatic, nor for they shoot a liquid, nor to they shoot three bolts at once (AQ). So, Supercell clearly is not showing a crossbow, but some sort of fictional variant based off it. Thus, they can name it whatever they want. Since they choose X-bow over crossbow (and yes, I know my Greek origins), I use the letter x when I pronounce it.
@Mendax - You were kicked for being rude, arrogant and obnoxious and for having a ♥♥♥♥ base.

So I assume you speak by pronouncing all your words phonetically? That must make for interesting conversation.

umm... or when a letter is all by itself you call it by its name, or at least in the English language...

its clearly an abbreviation, one letter or 3 it doesnt matter. its like saying "lol" or "brb" as they are spelled and not by what they actually mean.

@MintFlex- Why does it concern you so much to the point of resorting to flames about how people pronounce a word? Does it really matter that much to you? People pronounce words differently all across the world, different accent or not. Do you flame them and insist that there is one way to properly pronunciate the word?
