    New Defense - Lightning Rod

I believe it is extremely cheesy that someone can drop 3 lightning spells on my dark elixir and jack 2,000+. If you want to attack for dark elixir you should have to earn it, not create all lightning spells and head hunt for it. My idea is this: A lightning rod (1 tile building size) that will protect a radius of 2-3 tiles, this can then be set next to the dark elixir to protect it from lightning spells.

    Thoughts?

Yes I do not like DE zapping because you do not get shield for it and a lot of people can get you in one night so this would be welcomed.

You have to store a lot of DE for upgrades and getting DE is slow so... ya

Don't speed upgrade your town hall, being a level nine or ten does not help you if you have gold walls or lower.

Great idea, BUT, would it totally deflect and absorb all 1-5 lightning spells players may carry? Would it "cushion" all strikes or just one or two strikes?

I had a similar idea, a defensive force field over a selected are for lightning spells, but this falls right in line with the thought. Anything to defend a particular building or group of buildings against lightning spells.

It's only fair that anything you can attack with, there should be some type of counter defense for it.

I just posted another thread idea as well to apply a lowered cap/limit for anyone using only lightning spells to raid storages. The bottom line is, I don't mind that it happens, it's just that there is no way to defend against it, and the amount a person can take is ridiculous when you are storing a large quantity of it.

    100%

100%, Since it is such a small area, I do not think this would be over-powered.
