If you use minions more I'd do those first, but if you use both I'd do hogs because I think their improvement is much more noticeable.
Ya only reason I would not go with the king is if my lab was doing nothing and only dark upgrades were left. Always keep the lab going 100% of the time, Its more important then keeping your builder's going.
