Farming the Halloween tombstones?

Hey guys, I'm really crazy about getting rare decorations for my base (idk why i'm just a freak). so i tried to make it so that there were no 2x2 spaces in my "mowed grass" area of my base and just 2x2 spots on the outer rim of my base. so i had it like that for around 24 hours and only got one evergreen tree. I thought i would of at least had 3 obstacles spawn because they normally spawn every 8 hours.

Is there some sort of formula clash of clans uses to decide how often obstacles spawn? and does anyone know a good base design to get these tombstones in the middle of your base and on the outer perimeter?

Of course there's a formula. Supercell would never tell us though. They love to keep us in the dark about any useful statistical knowledge.

The every 8 hours is just speculation that has been argued about quite a bit.

I'm 99% sure the every 8 hour thing was confirmed by someone from Supercell, the issue that most people don't know about is as follows:

Every 8 hours an obstacle will spawn on your base. But, the obstacle will only spawn if that area has enough space for the obstacle to spawn (we all knew this part). But, If the area is blocked by a building or something else, then, you have to wait another 8 hours before your next chance for something to spawn.

So, it's all luck. You could go days without anything spawning due to tough luck of the draw.
