Prior to the loot update of Dec 2013 you could get insane amounts of loot by the addition of the win bonus for attacking higher THs. The maximum was about 1.4 million of each gold and elixir and I thin you can see a clip on YT of someone getting within a whisker of getting that. My own record (which I got pre-loot change as a TH7) was 780k of each.
I think the post-change maximum is something like 920k of each.

i once had 670k/550k/3k loot in the past , like 6 months ago
i dont have a screenshot since i dont usually keep 6 month old pics on my phone
