TH8 Symmetrical Farming Build (4 Mortars)

    baz.jpg

Here it is! I really enjoy making bases that are geometrically sound but I'm not so sure about the functionality yet. Let me know what I can do to improve it!

P.s. sorry about the terrible quality of the picture. I'm working on getting a better one!

    Air defense is too exposed.

    Where would you put them?

    Pros:
    - Centralized what should be
    - Correct surrounding structure placement

    Cons:
    - Air defense exposed
    - Large compartment in the center makes storages easy to reach if attackers get to the core
    - Builder's huts on the edges are never a good idea

I'm not sure what to do about your air defense; you're going to have to change your design a bit.

The AD being exposed is really the biggest problem I have with this base. The only way I can think to move them more inwards is to move my storages more outward, which would make them more separated (which is good) but also more exposed from the outside (which is bad). Do you think the trade-off is worth it?

Although I don't often get attacked hard by air (as it's expensive and not a common farming comp), and having the air defenses closer to the outside really helps to combat healers and minions.

Also could you explain to me why builders huts on the outside are bad? I was thinking something along the lines of misdirection but they don't really last long enough to really mess any attackers up, and even if they do their troops aren't in range of most of my defenses.

    Thanks!

At this point in your design process, you're just going to have to decide what's more important: your air defenses, wizard towers or storages, which really depends on what armies you get attacked with most frequently. The only alternative is putting some effort into a full makeover.

Builder's huts on the outside make it easy for attackers to lure clan castle troops, and are easy percentage points. The trade-off (no 3-stars) is not only unlikely, but also unhelpful for a farmer. It's much better to put them in range of defenses as mini HP-tanks.

Alright I've moved the builder huts to 3 of the corners (where the corners were exposed x.x) and the lab to the last corner so more buildings are in range of the defenses and those corners can't be easily bombed.

I appreciate the input, I'll figure something out with the air defense by the end of today, I'm sure!

This is the first variation: If you aren't worried about air attacks and you want your storages further inside the base.

Second variation: More centralized defenses but storages are more exposed.
