I suggest just focusing on DE, Heroes will make the bigger impact, lavas won't. High level Heroes are so much more important than high level walls. Use the Gold and Elixir you make to upgrade your defenses and lab, and any extra should be used on lavas.

I am not ash obviously but I hope you do not mind me butting in

If you can farm DE and gold seperately why cant you just go for whatever the base has being it gold or DE? Maybe not in the same raid but if the base has good DE then go for that, if the base has good gold then go for that. I assume you use the same army composition for gold and DE.

I do farm heroes and walls at the same time but I do it a bit differently than ash. I go for champions league bonus but except for today it hasnt been as good as it was before the update.

I would suggest to farm enough DE to keep both heroes upgrading and use the rest of the week to farm lavas. When heroes are level 30 it will be much easier farming the walls.

Ill get my heroes to lvl30 asap as ash said. Atleast the AQ. The main problem here for me is that i always have to skip dead base if i wanna make DE. I find a dead base in 3-4 mins of nexting whereas i find a DE base in 6-8 minutes so you know :P

Wow man, I've been watching your journey since day one (the new journey) and I must admit I really enjoy watching your videos, even that you explain everything, you make it look soooo easy, regards on that and keep it up!

I started using BAM to farm DE thanks to you, sometimes I still fail and I don't get the storage but most of the times I can succesfull do it , thanks you so much again for the guide and everything you do.

It finally happened! I completed my walls! Ended with 30 AQ/25 BK (Enough DE for 26 BK atm). It has been an incredibly rewarding journey, and I look forward to welcoming TH10 in 9 days!

Update of my progress:

July 29, 2015 - Week 3 of my journey


Barbarian King: Level 14
Archer Queen: Level 17

Made over 500,000 Dark Elixir in the last 3 weeks. As you can see, I have hardly used any of my Gold and Elixir on walls. Instead, I mainly focused on Dark Elixir and saved up all my Gold and Elixir on upgrades instead. My Barbarian King will be 15 in a few hours, so I would complete 6 Hero levels in 3 weeks. Upgrades will now each take 7 days, so I'm going to separate my BK from AQ 3.5 days apart so that would give me about 3 days to get the DE necessary for both their upgrades per level.

It finally happened! I completed my walls! Ended with 30 AQ/25 BK (Enough DE for 26 BK atm). It has been an incredibly rewarding journey, and I look forward to welcoming TH10 in 9 days!

The explanations of your tactics in the videos are really helpful. I was failing pretty hard at BAM but from studying your attacks closely I realized I wasn't putting down enough troops to create the funnel initially and then wasn't following up fast enough once they broke in. My DE grab is still nowhere near yours but it's 5x the rate I was doing. It's also liberating to just say screw the trophies, I just want the DE.

New DE Attack Strategy: LoonBAM

I've been using this attack a lot more recently and have been making tons of Dark Elixir fast without boosting and without using Heroes:

Alternative way to get to the core where the DE normally lies. Mainly is to clear the defense and make way for the breakers and barch.. A good way to replace giants which are obstructed by walls.. Good strategy . Ash

I'm farming de in Masters 3, and currently both my heroes are down. Do you think this LoonBAM would work in masters, or are the bases too tough? My guess is that you won't be able to maintain trophies too easily because there aren't too many rich, easy th8s (I'm th9.) If I wanted to used this army comp, do you think I should go down to crystal or gold? Have you found that perfect de spot for your th9 account yet?
