Hi, I wondered if any thoughts been given to making Tees that are game themed. I have tons of fun/funny ideas and thought it would be a fun contest idea, heck I'd settle for a free tee with one of my ideas on it!!!
I can see Supercell going even all the way out: T-shirts, hoodies, plushies, key chains, figurines, movies. I'm surprised they haven't even reaped the easiest marketing benefit (T-shirts) yet. I bought my son a T-shirt for his birthday with his clan name, but I had to go to some other place. I would've been very happy to give Supercell the money.

Self brand merchandising is very difficult to do. Do they want to sell shirts or gems?
Many of you may think, "Why not both?!" but you don't understand the costs and resources needed to manufacture and sell merchandising. It would require not just one or two people at Supercell to manage it but an entirely new division or company itself.
The best method would be to license them out to companies already doing video game merchandising. Or if you are willing to take it on, make a proposal for licensing rights. This would be too much of a burden for them to get into. Do you think John Deere does their own T shirts when they're selling million dollar Combines? Or do they license them out to variety of manufacturers?
That's the way to go but the problem is, as popular as they are, they may not be seen as popular enough for merchandising. Angry Birds is the king of mobile gaming app merchandising but most of what you see are more than likely licensed out. A vendor that has all the logistics to manufacture and distribute merchandise has to see the value of paying a license and mass producing these items...
