I have been out of war for a month almost upgrading my heros.... This is a part of the game. If they made the changes you are asking for they would literally lose a percentage of their income.
If you want to war with your heros, support the game, buy gems and spend them.

Reducing heroes upgrade time to 2 days would be a smaller modification for the same purpose (larger wars).

please do so, it is very frustrating not being able to go to war that many battles. It takes ages to get bk and AQ to decent level. So YEAH, i'd sign it 1000x
