I definitely agree with this.
Please oh please... The same way a defensive building out of war is unavailable and in war is still defending.. Heroes upgrading should still be available for attacks while in war...
just have them available at the level they were when the war started...
Same way your war village is different than your normal village.....
clean and efficient...
