Somewhat recently an admin did reply they would like to add this, but due to technical reasons they haven't been able to. Don't know how to have a hero awake for wars but not regular play. [Without letting heroes be available always which they definitely do not want and that is a big income spinner.]
We just have to put forward alternative ways for them to achieve this, my new idea is a 'pause' the upgrade as per my signature.
either do this or do not let upgrading heroes defend & not consider them for matchmaking at all. come on man, i understand that there is money involved but sometimes you have to do something which allows the community to really enjoy something and not miss out on a completely awesome aspect of the game, probably the best aspect i.e clan wars.
