I think this is a very bad idea for a number of reasons. I will state the main objections that I see here and rest my case:

    1. Many clans do wars on a predetermined schedule and start wars at a time that ensures them that there strongest players are available shortly before the war ends in order to conduct a number of last minute attacks that might put them ahead (especially if the enemy already thought they had the win in the bag and started going after exposed THs for loot). This is a very common war strategy that would be null and void with these "rushed prep days".
    2. No responsible leader would agree to a shortened prep day if there is a risk of some members not being able to join the fight. In many (if not most) clans, the lower level players attack first, so if the war starts a few hours after the begin of prep day these players would need to be available. It would become a nightmare to management and coordinate all this not just in one clan but in two. (For what it's worth, co-leaders can start wars, so at the very least they should also have a say in this.)
    3. Donations! Often times it's only a handful of players with the highest level troops that do the clan war donations, so in order to shorten the prep day these players would need to be available at the beginning and put in extra time (maybe even gems) in order to fill all war castles with high level troops in a short amount of time.

Just put the game aside for a while, go out with your buddies for a change or try to get yourself a girlfriend. Most people have real lives outside of the game, so it really shouldn't be that difficult to find things to do on prep day while you are waiting for battle day to start

I don't agree because people will just form and/or join clans who rush OR join clans who don't rush depending on their individual preferences.

I agree with you that prep day needs some changes but I would go opposite route of what you are proposing.

Other than donations, I think prep day should be used more for strategy. I think the time should be used to make your war base better and to scout your first attack. My proposal would be to add a strategy board. Maybe call it War Board or whatever you like. Its a board where players can give suggestions on war base changes to others. There can be a first attack list made and edited. You can list attack strategies vs certain bases on the other clan that you think might work. Endless strategy options.

I think chat moves so fast and will disappear within minutes depending on how active a clan is. Important information can be easily missed. So to have something to keep important information pre and during the war would be very helpful.

I think some of you missed the OP's idea that both sides would have to agree. If you do not want to rush prep day for any of the reasons you have listed you would simply not agree to rushing it, even if the other side wants to and it would be a normal prep day for you. Would be a nice feature for the clans that do have an interest in rushing prep day.

Thank you for what you did have to say about the game. However, I'd appreciate if you could keep your responses game related and not personal. I have friends, and we hang out often, plus I am a college student so I'm also applying myself academically throughout the week and the weekend. And I have a busy schedule so don't think I sit around on my butt all day and drool over Clash of Clans. Because I don't. 2. I have a girlfriend, enough said. 3. I do have a real life outside of the game but I was trying to offer a suggestion to better the game based on an idea I've been mauling over for a while now. 4. Thank you for what you did offer about the game, I do understand what you were saying there but as I replied to someone previously, I think that War Clans can and would form around the fact of whether or not their leaders choose to rush the war.
    Thank you

Thank you! The reason I included the idea of making BOTH clan leaders agree to rush is because some clans may not want to so they don't have to. Also, to answer a common argument, the reason I offered that it is only the leader that makes the decision to rush is so that wacky co-leaders don't go rushing wars as they please. Also, just because the leader is the only one who can say whether or not to rush doesn't mean that he/she can't ask their clan what they would like to do.
