I've already posted regarding the implementation of a filter system into the tournament/trophy screen in-game and some of the benefits it would bring to the game. In fact not only are there a multitude of benefits to enhance gameplay from a players point of view and revenue from the developers poiint of view but there appears to be, on face value, very little downside!
Ive now had some time to think further into this idea and have come up with further pro's. So for posterity, below is a compilation of the Pro's and Con's.
Firstly let me explain what a filter system could entail..
What is a filter?
In this instance a filter would be a toggle that you would flip between options, in the tournament page or Clan list page.
At the moment the only option you have for the player ranking is 'trophies gained'. What I am suggesting is adding another, or in fact many other options for ranking players, that you could toggle between.
Filter Options
Here are some of the options proposed;
- Donations (total)
- Donations (weekly)
- Gold raided (total)
- Elixer raided (total)
- Dark Elixer raided (total)
- Trophies gained to trophies lost (total or weekly)
- (New) Clans joined (total)
(The developers could add other options from average star per attack/defensive battle, to the mission achievements depending on what they deem necessary/appropriate).
Pro's
- Some players.. In actual fact, 99% of players will never compete in the trophies gained (world), and will inevitably, give up on the hope of getting to the top. Adding this filter with multiple options, will give all players different areas where they are able to compete.
- in attempting to compete in the various options, players will be spending more on gems in order to be more competitive.
- Clans will now be able to use a wide range of data to screen potential clan members. In particular, total donations and total clans joined! This will solve the whole 'clan hopping' problem.
- more competition options within clans.
- Developer tournaments rewards would be more diverse
- Players could tell what their strengths and weakness are.
Con's
- The trophy direction the developers have been directing us down will no longer have impetus.. And!? Lol. They will still be able to emphasize the Trophy system !!
