New Newspaper - unwanted customers

I have a second 'helper' farm (level 30-something, just got potatoes). and sometimes sell stuff in it's shop. for some reason, it isn't being raided. only my main farm.

On your main farm have you ever tried to remove followers by following them and then unfollowing them? Also have you ever done this on your 2nd farm?

There are a huge number of explanations of how users could end up buying supplies from your roadside shop without them being advertised in the newspaper.

Here are a few examples:

1. Another item of yours is advertised in the newspaper, either on purpose or without your knowledge, leading strangers to your roadside shop. They see the item you didn't want to sell to that particular person, and they pick it up.

2. The person is one of your GameCenter or Facebook friends but you weren't aware of it. Personally, I've added a ton of people to GameCenter and Facebook without knowing them. When I shop for items, I often scroll through all barns in my friends list, and sometimes stumble upon items I'm looking for. Your unknown "friends" could be doing the same thing.

3. Followers of your farm could be visiting frequently to check your store.

There are many possibilities, besides some weird new bug, that could lead to your items being bought by "strangers." We'll keep an eye on the issue, but for now it's safe to assume that one or all of these above cases is the cause of this.

Yeah, Steve, this is not what is happening. Unless there's a bug that accounts for your 1. example: "an item of yours is advertised in the paper WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE." We are all actively not advertising. I uncheck the advertise button, yet invariably, the expansion items will be snatched up. This has been happening since the last update. I'm going to quit the game unless it gets fixed. Please fix it.

Main farm, yes. but for some reason, the follower was still there after I reopened the app. As 'she' didn't appear to be actively playing the game, I just decided to ignore her.
After the last major app update (that added Alfred), she disappeared. I was without a follower for several days. After the raiding began, I checked my followers, and now have one, but last i checked it did not have an avatar, and can't remember the name. but it was NOT the follower I had before. low level farm (9). (no wifi where I am at the moment)

Helper farm: no followers that I am aware of, past or present. A few fb, and gc friends. all the fb friends have unique images, and are also friends in my main farm as well.

Main farm: I have no dock, but do have some leaderboard points for helping friends with their crates.
Helper farm: No dock, but have helped with boat crates only once I can remember, for a fb/gc friend.

Main farm: routinely work the DD, and have watered strangers plants, and even helped with a crate or two if it is an item I have a lot of.
Helper farm: usually just 8 or so ads of B&E, even with recent changes. Not worth it. I get what I need from my main farm and 'sell' to the helper farm. Or use Tom.
So far, no interfarm trading has been affected.

Sorry Steve but you are very wrong and I feel like you are somewhat insulting my intelligence. I am fully aware of whether or not I have pressed the advertisement button, I know all of my followers and my items are bought instantly by complete strangers as if they are being advertised. It is a bug and Supercell need to fix it ASAP before they lose a lot of players.

Are you having a laugh??? Have u even bothered to read all the posts??? Does anyone ever take any accountability in supercell?? No.

Why, all of a sudden are there so many complaints around the same time? Whether it was the introduction of the useless gift card system or the change over in the style of newspaper...we are having premium items taken from our stalls without advertising, and ruling out all other possibilities, we are not stupid. Your post is very insulting and I'm surprised you had the audacity to post that without even looking into this. We can't all be wrong.

In my opinion it's all because of the new newspaper. Think of it... Every few minutes the paper changes. There are many players all over de world and many differend papers, because it's not just 1 paper for the whole world. Many people saves the good stuff for their friends. To achieve to put a few special items in the first pages of every paper ( every 3 minutes or so) there is no other way that those things get advertised whithout our permission.

Exactly what I was thinking. I don't know a single person playing this game, and until last night had never even logged into the game centre. I have five friends that I added to my friends list that are just senior farms I like to look at. The people grabbing my stuff are not helpers or followers of my farm.

This all started in the last few days and it appears they don't care that everyone is angry and frustrated. Also appears by the months of posts I read when I joined that this is the same pattern with this game.

i am sorry I started playing, and sorry I gave them any money at all. I will play until my diamonds are done, and move to something else.

Too bad they have ruined the game, and so many people are quitting.

Well lucky you! All night, as soon as I advertise the gremlin takes the item posted and leaves. I have hardly sold anything else off my stand. I am convinced this is more then things being advertised without the button being clicked ... I actually think someone found a way to c h e a t the game. There are several downloads out there to scam and I think someone has found a new one.

It seems to me that my ad is scooped up and not posted as no one else buys all the other goodies in my stand. If it made the paper SOMETHING else would have been sold. This has been happening all day.

The moderators don't seem to be reading or caring, so nothing is going to change. I don't see the point in playing if I can't buy or sell anything.

I just bought 1500 diamonds last week before it went downhill, so I guess i will use them up and move along. It was kinda fun while it lasted.

Not lucky, just happy a couple of my nbrs got through the gingerbread wall!

Hard for me to know now the difference between my usual raiders and grabbers, and any new glitch, as they all present in their anonymous headgear.
