Same thing is happening to me.
Do we notice a pattern, maybe? Like, for example, only stuff in the 5th stall gets sold to complete strangers?
I am going to start writing down when things get sold to strangers and when ...

The same here... No pic, no name... I really wonder what's going on here... It's frustrating.

Hey Supercell!! Over here! *waves energetically* Yeah, you....you with the blinkers on!!
Think it's perhaps time for some kind of response to this issue we're reporting here?
I know we can't expect you to have the inhumanly fast response time of an over eager mystery shopper swooping down on two bolts and a duct tape; BUT after so many pages of complaints about the same thing some kind of recognition that this is possibly an issue that needs to be addressed might be appropriate![]()

Say no to sugar/dairy boats!! Don't fill em, don't open any crates, just turn the water cannon on them and wait for the next one!
I have now noticed something else. I loaded up my shop, and instantly the listed item is sold and nothing else goes. I listed all popular items and normally almost all would be sold. This has happened four times in an hour as I listed a new item in the empty slot and used a diamond to post. Bam. Gone again. I am thinking this is a c h e a t e r program that people have downloaded to c h e a t the game.
I have the same problem. I put up a product in the box. I click the button to not create an add (I put it up for my friends I.e. jam, cakes, ice cream) and some random person I don't know buys it. Then I thought I would try something I created an add with something crappy then when all is safe I put up the good stuff and all gone. ♥♥♥!?!? One time it was by some random person I helped in the paper with her boat. How on earth did she get back to my farm when we aren't friends and she isn't fallowing me?
There are a huge number of explanations of how users could end up buying supplies from your roadside shop without them being advertised in the newspaper.
Here are a few examples:
1. Another item of yours is advertised in the newspaper, either on purpose or without your knowledge, leading strangers to your roadside shop. They see the item you didn't want to sell to that particular person, and they pick it up.
2. The person is one of your GameCenter or Facebook friends but you weren't aware of it. Personally, I've added a ton of people to GameCenter and Facebook without knowing them. When I shop for items, I often scroll through all barns in my friends list, and sometimes stumble upon items I'm looking for. Your unknown "friends" could be doing the same thing.
3. Followers of your farm could be visiting frequently to check your store.
There are many possibilities, besides some weird new bug, that could lead to your items being bought by "strangers." We'll keep an eye on the issue, but for now it's safe to assume that one or all of these above cases is the cause of this.

happening here, too.
only: if I wait long enough, sometimes an avatar replaces the gingerbread man. Still, it is no one from my friends or followers, or people I've 'helped' in some way. No ad placed at all.
I've also gotten a lot the the generic fb 'female' buying up stuff as well. And everyone in my friends list from facebook has a unique avatar.
I have a second 'helper' farm (level 30-something, just got potatoes). and sometimes sell stuff in it's shop. for some reason, it isn't being raided. only my main farm.
And what I noticed about the DD yesterday: the first two pages are varied, with some expansion stuff, too. Maybe even through the 4th page. but the rest of the pages are all B&E, or variations thereof. (playing on an iPad).
Main Farm: Snowmageddon 2021
Level 154 Tag #: L2VYU28
second farm: Old Movies Rock!
Level 114 Tag #YUUP889
I just did some testing and had a very strange and interesting result.
My son has an iTouch with Hay Day on it and does not play it much. He only has 2 friends in Hay Day which are 2 other members of our house hold through Game Center. He has zero followers and I verified this before I did my test. He also has a boat score of 400 and the leader board will not rank him since it is so low and will not allow me to see the 2 people above and the two below him.
The store has been empty for at least several days and I placed a lot of good items for a low price and make sure nothing is advertised. Sugars, pies, building material, etc. They where in the store for about 30 seconds and then the ginger bread bandit comes in and buys everything. It does not list a name but now there is a single follower and it is somebody on level 34. Since they are now a follower I can go to their farm and they don't have a picture so it just shows a ginger bread man. I am guessing that somehow he came to this farm and since he got such a great deal that he marked it to follow.
Now the question comes up is how did they find this farm? They where not a friend since this farm only had 2 friends and had zero followers. Now it is possible that somehow they started following the farm in the past and for some reason it was not displaying their name in the followers tab, but it is more likely they where not a follower before and they marked the farm to follow and started displaying their name in the followers tab.
The only other thing I can think of is they somehow found it through the boat leader board, but the farm has a score of 400 points and gives no number for ranking and will not show the ranking of the farm along with 2 farms above and 2 farms before.
How did this person find this farm? The only reasons I can think of is the system may advertise something without you knowing or there is a mix up with your unique farmer ID number and somehow people are coming to your shop instead of going to another shop when clicking on a newspaper ad.
If there was someway I could communicate with this new follower, I could ask him how he found the farm. I put his name and an e-mail address to see if he will communicate.
