New Newspaper - unwanted customers

Like I said already these reports (no ads, no followers etc etc) are particularly strange and we are looking into these and that is all I can say at this point. Of course I can't reproduce this with my farm so that would also be the case for any regular high or mid lvl farm. We are listening and investigating however as you might understand these things take time.

Absolute and complete control of your shop is just not part of the game and it never was and for now we all just have to deal with it as it is whether we like it or not.

On a side note I bought 10 advertised chocolate bars last week.

I am a high level player and only have 9 followers and 30 odd friends (er I don't mean my friends are odd!) With some inactive ( no movement on farm, and/ or no reported playing activity in the last month or two on GC ) I prob have a player base of about 30, and all have bought from me at some time or another and I know they show up with names at least. However, it seems I have been visited from woozle via the dd when I definitely didn't advertise so I reckon there are old ads being circulated in the paper. They may advertise the original goods I put up for sale, but, apart from the advertised item, you don't know what will be on sale, and will just assume the advertised item has been sold when you visit. (Don't know that this explains the abundance of generic avatars though)

That is not what I am saying. I sell stuff all the time with no avert whatsoever but I have done so for many months already. Usually the items don't stay in my shop for a long amount of time and neighbours, followers and so on stop by to buy stuff. It's just that I haven't noticed any significant changes in that.

I am pretty sure I can clear out my small almost packed to the max 2100 spaces barn within 30 minutes to an hour without placing 1 single advert. I could have done so before these updates. Therefore this is something that can't be checked on with a high level farm. There are some reports which are particularly strange and it is being looked into.


Trading is something that isn't officially part of the game nor is it supported in anyway and it never was. There was always the risk of something going wrong there. After these updates I have traded or passed items quite a lot to specific buyers. Since these updates I haven't encountered someone other then the intended buyer grabbing the items yet. The last time something like this happened on my farm is many months ago already.

The game by design doesn't give the farmer full control of the items placed in their shop. A regular player will pick up followers and can have people visit their farms in a lot of different ways.

i understand that but what I am saying is I have had unknown people snatch a trade several times now. you do support trades by allowing us to use this forum but you do not accept responsibility for trades gone bad. you have changed the game play and it happens every time you update. You give us a gift but then slam us with a back hand. Examples,such as when you stopped us from opening more than 3 crates and now with the change in newspaper ads. I avoid the newspaper ads now and use them less often, I never use to. I never had any problem with selling my products as I discount most items. But I try to build reciprocal relationships with my neighbors, but as I said most of my products are snapped by unknowns, my neighbors with no avatars still have their name below the silhouette, not so with strangers. My grandfather owns a farm, relationships with the community is a valuable part of farming.

A few minutes ago I checked the DD and found an ad selling a very interesting duct tape for only 75 coins ("afnan", bottom right):

I rushed to the shop and of course found nothing there, but just out of curiosity I checked this farm's stats and found this:

I find it hard to believe that a level 7 player can already have 301 followers and 41400 visits in one day, but it is just impossible that he has had no revenue at all *ever*. What happened to those 7 truck deliveries in one day, then? They produced no money for this poor player?

I don't know what is happening here. Maybe SC is experimenting with fake farms so we can have more covetable items in the DD... But if that is the case, well, I wish those fake farms sold these things more often, especially land deeds...

I'm going to keep an eye on this too when i run at a expansion item at a low cost ( what is like 20 times a day ) curieus if it's more like that.

It's ok that they experimenting with fake farms in my opinion. But hey.. Why not doing it the same as inthe greg-shop.. That everyone can have it

Wow, very interesting! The revenue refers to sales in he shop, I think, so that could be on level 7. Only hat he/she supposedly sold at least one plank! Maybe the goods in the DD are somehow linked to the wrong farm?

Heyyyyyy... But if he/she sells an item at low cost and the item is gone when you get there..... Why is the road-shop maximum on 1 day still zero Of course there are so many visits.. Everyone runs to an add like that..to get nothing

Very interesting. I believe the revenue is a calculated total of the shop revenues only, not the truck deliveries. If he is at such a low level, he may have just started playing and the road shop revenue is not calculated yet, or maybe the total doesn't add up instantly, but at the end of a 24 hour period? Like Greg shop or the wheel of fortune? Can a mod please confirm this?

Maybe tomorrow whe will have 75 added to the roadshow revenue. Hard to believe one ad can have that much visitor traffic... Well done supercell. This is money making by the numbers you entertain.

Hi, unless there are two Lynne's Roadside Shops I visited your shop yesterday via an advertisement in DD. But maybe shop names can be duplicated?

If he is at such a low level, he may have just started playing and the road shop revenue is not calculated yet, or maybe the total doesn't add up instantly, but at the end of a 24 hour period? Like Greg shop or the wheel of fortune? Can a mod please confirm this?

Maybe tomorrow whe will have 75 added to the roadshow revenue. Hard to believe one ad can have that much visitor traffic... Well done supercell. This is money making by the numbers you entertain.

I can confirm that the road shop total adjust by instant. When i was selling lot's of stuff to get a new machine, i've kept an eye on it and it adjusted immediately. Maybe for a low lever player it doesn't..or that it's changed by now... But i don't believe that actually. It could be... But... No.. I don't thinks so.

The road side shop is unlocks at level 7. It could just happen to be his or her very first sale which might explain the 0 revenue which only includes selling via the shop. Revenue from truck orders is not included in this statistic.

It is possible there is a slight lag in updating that statistic and the player has to collect the coins from the shop in order for it to update. If it was a 1st sale and he/she hasn't collected yet that could explain 0 revenue.

Lower level players selling building materials at default price will sure get them a lot of traffic to their farm and a lot of followers. I followed a lot of people like that and with limited barn space they usually sell regularly.

First of all I am just a regular player like anyone else. I don't give or add features nor do I take them away!

Supercell doesn't support trades as this is not a game feature. This is mentioned in the sticky thread on trading at your own risk. It's something players invented themselves and it's their responsibility. Allowing a thread and supporting things are 2 different things.
