New Newspaper - unwanted customers

I did read it. So have many others and none of us believe that is a valid explanation. SC doesn't care that the game has issues and the excuses just keep piling up.

The players here have done a lot of work explaining what is happening and what they think might be the issue and SC is just ignoring it. It's not helpers or followers doing this...it's more than that. But I won't waste any more time expressing my frustrations here as it really doesn't matter to anyone.

As many have already....I will play out the diamonds I bought then quit. There are many other games out there to play.

i am connected through Facebook and GC I see avatars, names, gingerbread and whitish looking faces. It is constantly happening even when I sell crops at base price. I am really fed up because I cannot see this being resolved soon.

i think I've noticed another pattern with the gingerbread man. I've had a couple of good things in my stall that have stayed there for quite a while, then one of my neighbours buys something and within a minute gingerbread man comes along and snaps up the rest. It's almost like i'm on somebody's radar every time there is action in my stall! I'm wondering if that is the case with anyone else?

Tinkerbell, I think everyone is expressing frustration because we haven't heard anything in three days and there are 33 pages of testimony about what is happening. If Steve or Nick, the two voices of SC who did respond, hadn't initially said that we players were not aware of the many ways someone could be visiting our shops, and only after our protestations reluctantly admitted, okay, there might be something to what you're saying, we'll look into it, we would probably have more patience. In the absence of convincing information explaining why our goods are being bought up by strangers within seconds of putting them in our shops when we haven't advertised, we're coming up with our own narrative as to why this is happening. It would be validating for us to hear that someone in SC's QA department has played the game and seen what we're talking about and could acknowledge it.

I think I speak for everyone in this thread when I say we are players who feel helping out our followers and friends is an integral part of the game experience. Like I said 16 pages ago, that warm, fuzzy feeling has been completely subverted by this problem.

I rather am exasperated because their initial response was that player's actions caused the problem, after all these people wrote in detail, right after the newspaper maintenance.

It's been two weeks since the newspaper is changed, and I think it's fair to say that players are noticing this it all at once, it can't be a coincidence that we all start to make advertising errors all at the same time as the new newspaper.

I am not unhappy that they responded. I'm unhappy that they assume it's not their coding that's at fault, it's the fault of the millions of players taking their time to voice their concerns.

Oh, yes, must have missed that first time round! If that is the case for more people, the system of putting up a grain of wheat before you put up a good item for a trade will trigger it. Must pop over and check the trading threads!

Not as many as I expected, but then a lot are relatively new players asking for help with achievements. I'm wondering what levels the people here are on? I'm level 59 btw.

After monitoring the papers for many days, I discovered that a lot of advertisements were faked or just empty or items have been bought long long time ago.

Proof? I don't bother to take the screen shots but:

- Myself: a lot of times, I just put items on stalls, not trigger the advertisements yet, but people already go in to buy, a lot of times, buyers are not in my friend list or follower list, from where they get connection to me? Definitely, the previous advertisement is still remained somewhere, long long time ago.

- I found 2 cases, one from the person or farm name jackky, another from King Land (or something like that).

+ Jackky advertised 2 planks, i jump in to buy, nothing in stalls, couple minutes later (less than 10 minutes), i found him again on papers, still 2 planks, jump in again, nothing , do u think someone spend 1 diamond to advertise for a hot item - planks, within 10 minutes?

+ King Land advertised 10 planks, 2700 coins, i found this ad on Sunday (yesterday), jump in, nothing. Then I thought he is a kind of people no need barn or silo items, I follow him with hope that he will sometimes sell the expansion items again. I followed him 1 day, monitor him closely, 1 full day he does nothing, not selling anything, no activity at all. Then Monday afternoon (just 30 minutes ago), I found his ad of 10 planks again, 2700 coins, jump in, nothing.

Oh my Gods, the whole ads systems was totally faked, for sure. Especially hot items, they keep repeat hot items sales to make it looks exciting, but a lot of times, u will jump in and just find a years old ads like me.

It's simple. Our stuff is being advertised in the newspaper without consent, I assure you. Now I'm getting names and avatars I've never seen/helped before with the same speedy response as if you had put expansion items in the newspaper. Coincidence? No way. Yesterday I saw an ad in the paper and the farm name was 'Strangers raiding?'. He had up two planks of wood. Out of respect I didn't buy but I'm sure the next stranger did.

Yo just to FOOLED! I'm not mocking you. It's just that this happens, too. A lot. And I always follow these peeps, only to fail miserably. And the newspaper ads have actually started to refresh in a longer period of time. It's annoying, but deal with it. The thing is, this isn't our game. And there are plenty of topics LIKE this, but not DIRECTING to this EXACT topic. The only problem I've had with this is... Really, nothing. 9/10 of my barn and silo are organic, unless I trade . I gotta go for another trade, good luck

I and many other players experience the same thing. There is a thread about this in the bug/issue section of the forum. I hope they will fix it soon
