New Newspaper - unwanted customers

Rizzy are you connected to Facebook? If not, can you remember before this bug if you saw strangers avatars/names in your shop, if you ever advertised on occasion?

I used to be on FB and I remember seeing more stranger faces who weren't friends or followers.

Now that Im not connected to FB I see more faceless people...

So my theory is ads are placed without consent, period,

and those who are connected to FB can see the strangers, but those who are not cannot see, unless the person has a pic and name in GC.

The game can be played through only FB and not GC, If they are connected only through FB you cannot see their name either if you only have a GC account. They turn into faceless/nameless bots, but they are probably real people seeing the ads and only connected through FB.


Does that make any sense? Please advise.

i am connected through Facebook and GC I see avatars, names, gingerbread and whitish looking faces. It is constantly happening even when I sell crops at base price. I am really fed up because I cannot see this being resolved soon.

Well, I'm connected through both, and am plagued by faceless nameless.

I am making the same experience and it pisses me off. I do not advertise to keep the goodies for my friends, which is even more important now because the paper does hardly show anything but bacon and eggs.

Since the last update I get strangers buying my things within seconds I put them in the store. First I thought I advertised by mistake, but didn't. Also ever so often avatars and names are missing. This needs to be fixed!

I couldn't find that thread earlier, for whatever reason, but I thought I'd post separately, because I hadn't noticed anyone saying that they had had these ghost visitors reviving their trees, only buying from their stalls. I think it shows that the problem is not only limited to the stall. I just can't understand how a person who is not my friend or follower could possibly know I needed help if I had nothing in the market place. Just completely baffled and wondering if anyone else has the ghost helpers as well.

It can be someone you helped - in which case you will be in their last helpers list, or if they are 2 places above you, or two below they can reach you through the leader board.

Well, as a matter of fact, I have been trying with disconnecting and connecting again to FB earlier but there is no difference. There are not more nor less faceless robbers (in my shop)

I agree that it is most likely that our goodies are being advertised BUT I would expect, with so many unwanted ads, that the paper would contain more good stuff and it does not. Isn't that strange?

there is a lot going on, problems that may or may not be connected..... I understand that it is hard to fix a scala of bugs BUT why do we not hear a single word from SC??? That makes me all the more suspicious and very unhappy.

I am not connected to FB. I don't ever link any games to fb. The faceless buyer never helps revive plants, never does anything except buy the items that aren't set to a highest price.

The only thing I've found that stops the faceless GB is to put all of my products at absolutely the highest price, which is unfortunate because I always sell my stuff at the base price to my friends and never advertise.

I have also noticed this and when an item is advertised, I go to that persons roadside shop, purchase item, item turns grey & after a few seconds tells me someone else has bought it but still shows in shop, I come out shop, go back in & the item is still there!!! Also I did notice an advertisement from myself in the newspaper for an item I sold 2 days previously!!!

I concur with all your observations. Like you, I strongly believe real Hay Day players are scooping up my items, players who aren't aware that the ads weren't intentionally placed. They almost always revive plants. Would someone using a h.a.c.k. be so altruistic? Although now I guess they do get the coupons. I don't see that being the motivating force for long, though; the things you get with the meagerly doled-out coupons are so lame. I mostly see their pics, though usually not names. Attached is a SG of one unknown who grabbed three premium items; he has a picture and farm name, but the name only shows on ONE grab (I think it's attached, first time I've attempted it.)

I see players with avatars in gold frames, players with avatars in blue frames, players with names in frames of both colors, players without names in frames of both colors. Haven't yet seen a gingerbread name. Never been sniped by one of those players with a bluish person-shaped outline (what's that about?)

I'm connected through FB and GC, at level 58, never repaired my boat dock (I like the wood one), buy the minimal amount of diamonds needed to employ Tom.

Hey, has anyone considered that maybe we're a sample group that SC is testing out something on? Are all of your friends you can actually communicate with experiencing the same unknown item nabbers? I only have one friend I can actually ask, and I haven't yet.

There are a huge number of explanations of how users could end up buying supplies from your roadside shop without them being advertised in the newspaper.

Here are a few examples:

1. Another item of yours is advertised in the newspaper, either on purpose or without your knowledge, leading strangers to your roadside shop. They see the item you didn't want to sell to that particular person, and they pick it up.

2. The person is one of your GameCenter or Facebook friends but you weren't aware of it. Personally, I've added a ton of people to GameCenter and Facebook without knowing them. When I shop for items, I often scroll through all barns in my friends list, and sometimes stumble upon items I'm looking for. Your unknown "friends" could be doing the same thing.

3. Followers of your farm could be visiting frequently to check your store.

There are many possibilities, besides some weird new bug, that could lead to your items being bought by "strangers." We'll keep an eye on the issue, but for now it's safe to assume that one or all of these above cases is the cause of this.

its more than obvious that SC is either IN on this, or have just abandoned the game to walk away with the money they made with the game. No input from them other than they are SLEEPING but will investigate. The MODS are answering posts on other threads....but on this thread they are NO SHOW.

Now is the time for your son to start working on a farm game that actually WORKS....and he will be a millionaire who can by his mom an island in the carribean. Don't forget to invite use for a holiday. :-)

I did read it. So have many others and none of us believe that is a valid explanation. SC doesn't care that the game has issues and the excuses just keep piling up.

The players here have done a lot of work explaining what is happening and what they think might be the issue and SC is just ignoring it. It's not helpers or followers doing this...it's more than that. But I won't waste any more time expressing my frustrations here as it really doesn't matter to anyone.

As many have already....I will play out the diamonds I bought then quit. There are many other games out there to play.
