New Newspaper - unwanted customers

I have been testing some more and as I see it there are two different but equally annoying problems.

1. Unwanted ads, that generates unknown visitors. These visitors have avatars and names, although not always. They buy whatever you put up for sale. But not everything, many times only the FIRST thing you put up.
So I start with cheap mais or wheat, nothing special. Let the unwanted visitor buy that, wait for a while and then fill my shop.
Does not work all the time, sometimes more visitors come in, different avatars/ names. My guess they are innocent players, real players I mean, that encountered an ad that was not placed by me.
(Btw I am absolutely positive that they did NOT found me trhough the leaderbord, the helpers-tap or any suggestion presented earlier by some people.)

But as soon as I put up, unadverticed, some barn/silo stuff, saw/axe or land extension pops up problem nr two
2. Anonymus potatohead, no name, less then a second after putting valuable stuff for sale. That one is not a real person. It is a virus or a ♥♥♥♥er or ..... What?
What makes it hard to solve is that NOT everyone has visits from this virus. I play regularly with someone who can play freely as usual and never get robbed by this potatohead, ever!!!!!

The robber in combination with the totally worthless, super lousy paper makes it very hard to still enjoy the game. If only I wasn't addicted to it......

I have never experienced that they have avatars or names? I just see the "potatoheads" with no name or picture. Must it not be a neighbor if it has picture or name? I am not sure..

Edit: when I think about it, there is two types of anynomous kinds of pictures. There is the usual anynomous picture, and then there is a more scary face.. If i remember correctly. But never seen names or personal avatars from these anynomous buyers. But will keep my eyes open and check of it happens again.

As we still haven't heard anything back from SC (still counting sheep?) I have been trying to exclude any factors that may or may not be relevant. First, the bandit never takes anything but building/expansion/mining items. I can put very cheap jam or juice or cake on sale unadvertised for just a few coins and then add a plank to the shop, again, unadvertised,and seconds later it is gone. I've been playing this game for a while and if I saw a jar of jam on sale at a friend's shop for 10 coins I would buy it! Why isn't the bandit buying it then? Second, it doesn't seem to matter which stall I put the target items, contrary to what was previously thought early in the investigation. Third, I just realized that if I go to the leader board and click any name it will ask if I want to visit that farm. I had no idea that it was so easy to access just anyones farm at any time. Obviously, if I post in the paper then I am willing to go public with my farm.
Still, even if strangers did have total access to my farm how likely is it that someone is just hovering around waiting for me to post a target item? The response is way to quick to be just someone randomly finding my farm at all hours of the day/night and have perfect Timing each and every time. Clearly this is not the work of one or two bandits to do without the aid of a theftbot. So, what is the plan? Do we stop all trading of the target items? Surely that would bring the game to a grinding halt. I have stopped putting the items in my store and now I have quite the stockpile of deeds, planks, etc... It's not really fair nor fun to hoard but I do not want to participate in aiding ♥♥♥♥ers.

Getting a bit frustrated because me and my hubby help each other with barn and silo upgrades and we currently have enough silo materials to upgrade one of our silos but are afraid to move it to one farm for the upgrade because we are sure some or all of it will be taken before we can buy it. So instead of having a nice little boost in silo space we are stuck with barns clogged unnecessarily with silo upgrade stuff. I know it is being investigated and greatly appreciate that. We are looking forward to a speedy resolution/fix to this. Thanks for looking into this.

I Agree wholeheartedly with you Emmie! The newspaper is just useless! I thought my whole game might come to a standstill if I couldn't find a dratted POTATO! The frustration between the bandits and the newspaper is just becoming unbearable. Honestly, in game where we spend hours already searching for things, the added burden is just tipping me over the top.

Has anyone noticed all the hay day h a c k s that are available? I don't use a computer, just the iPad and iPods. I tried to download one of the h a c k s to see if that was what was behind it all but I had no success as safari wouldn't let me download the file. Testimonials (?) are saying that items are more easy to find using the h a c k.It might also be noted that all the h a c k s ask you to Like them on Facebook. I wonder if the masked bandit photos/avatars may resemble what one would use for Facebook. I guess that's difficult to know.

I have noticed that the bandits will leave me alone if I put out silo goods .... Except for my $1 wheat that sells faster than crack. Im not sure but I suspect they're not interested in mallets much either (no surprise there).

I haven't advertised today at all, yet low and behold I have found myself several new followers. I downloaded the updated version of the game to see if I would be lucky enough to glimpse the bandits photos but alas, my bandits continue to wear masks.

It might occur to you people at supercell to be a bit more generous with the rare items propping up from farming, etc. while your loyal players continue to suffer and withstand the current problems.

I have just realised that one person who is raiding my shop is called Yo this has been happening for several days. I thought they were a follower but I have now realised if they are they are not appearing on my follower tab. Perhaps that is the problem. They are a follower but they are not appearing on the tab.


i have identified yo. Posted a farm name who is yo? One of my followers replied, " yo is me " I could not tell he was yo from my followers list. Mystery of yo solved but I still have avatar unknowns visiting my shop even though I have not advertised. Sorry yo
